Not too exciting, been there so many times. But must admit, it has been a while since we last played at the Crabble.

So was that 2007 semi final (1st May 2007 under a full moon) really the last time we played them ?
That year we got promoted, they obviously didn’t but now they are in the league above us.
Did we ‘pass’ each other when we were relegated in 2013 ?

What a night that was !

The year after we got promoted in 2007 Dover won the Division 1 south in 2008 and played in the Isthmian Premier for 1 season when they won the league again in 2009 and got promoted to the Conference South.
So our last competitive meeting with them must have been in the 2008/09 season in the Isthmian Premier.

Thanks Adrian.
Just couldn’t remember playing them since that epic evening at the Crabble.
Maybe they were two ‘games to forget’.

Epic is spot on, Mick. Probably bettered only by the Harrogate cup replay for nerve-tingling drama!

Dover did the double over us in 2008/09, winning 1-0 at ours and 3-2 at theirs. I’ve just re-read my match report on the home fixture, and memories didn’t exactly come flooding back. I think that I must have missed the game at Crabble.

Having only avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth last season, Dover aren’t setting National League South on fire again this term either. I guess that they will see us as an opportunity to kick-start their campaign, but we should surely be perfectly confident of getting a result of some sort there too.
