First well done to supporter Amanda on winning todays 50/50 with ticket 3626 , amount of £184.50 largest prize this season .Secondly thanks to Tom Newman for proving a heater for our booth. Will certainly be handy for the midweek games in January.
As for the game thought we started well then Lewes took over at the end of the first half . Thought we had the the better of second half and overall deserved to win . Missed at least a couple of chances. However 3 points in the bag.
I think we have played and will play much better this season and not get three points. But I'm not complaining.
Not a great first half and 1-1 probably flattered us as Lewes regularly forced us to defend in numbers against their dangerous wingers.
Far better after the break attacking our now favoured Cole Warren stand and had enough clear chances to put the game to bed. Admitttedly the goal was very fortunate. Not sure why but the arrival of Super Sammy always seems to up our game !
So Lewes have taken just one point off us this season with over 1600 supporters watching both games. Thankfully Lewes's forwards couldn't hit a cow's **** with a banjo in either game.
Was confident that our excellent management team would deal with the problems Lewes were setting us in the first half. What a good player Tom Chalmers is becoming-moved to left back in the second half and started winning all the high balls to their no 7 and then followed him over to the right back position. And, of course, that fantastic run from the left back position. We also upped our intensity and had much the better of the second half. Felt a bit sorry for Finn, who didn't make the starting line up, but what good centre halves we have. Amazed to see Craig actually make one misjudgment in the second half allowing a ball to bounce over his head-but Alex, Finn and Craig are all top players.
