First of all congratulations to Tim and Charlie on winning the 50/50 prize of £171.50 with ticket 1590. Biggest amount this season so far.

as for the game defences were always going to be on top. Bishops Stortford not a great side but well organised and thought they just about deserved their win . Our problem is scoring  Very few chances, Lloyd injured again, James not yet made the transition to this level and Ben needing help. Next two games winnable.

Rather disappointing but not entirely unexpected.

Clearly Bishops Stortford are a strong team in this league and their ability to deny us any time and space gave us a big problem today. That said we could easily have been two up in the first ten minutes as our best two chances went begging. Sadly we never really troubled them again after that.

The rather predictable loss of Lloyd before half time didn't help our cause though Sammy did as well as anyone today. Clearly we also missed Sam Hasler and there really wasn't much joy for Ben, again looking rather isolated up front and denied even one goal attempt.

We'll have easier games than this, hopefully with a rather stronger team, so no need to despair at a one goal defeat against the league leaders.

1 nil against top of the league isn't bad. However, I was a bit concerned with the lack of creativity in midfield although the defence did bypass the midfield with long balls at times in the game. Definitely missed Sam Hasler as has been said and Ben was isolated up front. If we would like to push on in this league, we will need to improve the quality in depth in the team as I think can struggle when certain players get injured.
Defensively solid again though and was very impressed with Alex Brefo. So, all in all a defeat but a few positives to take from the game

Good game let's be 100% honest we don't have the quality in forward and midfield position now ben pope and Jack dixon are what you call honest old fashion player but in modern day football you need the skill level to match hastings need atleast 3 to 4 very good if not good signing to challenge for the league.
Think the goalkeeper very good louis good the defence was very impressed by Alex Brefo who played very well today me missed Sam hasler creativity he need another sam hasler type in the team and a top forward if we are even going to challenge the league or get play-off position.

A couple of thoughts on yesterday.
Firstly, does anyone know why Sam Hasler was missing ? I wasn't aware of him picking up any injury recently and he wasn't even on the bench. We certainly missed him !
Secondly, I am sure many people saw a rather disconsolate Lloyd Dawes leave the ground at half time. I'm sure Lloyd is desperately frustrated that he can't find match fitness (or even half-a-match fitness) but I felt his departure had the air of someone leaving the ground for the last time.
I sincerely hope I am wrong......... and how much do we need an injection of pace and flair into our attack ?

And, what's happened with Finn? why is he not getting a game, hopefully there's a good reason, he was such a good find.

Surprised when Lloyd was outpaced to the ball by their centre half-that being when his injury either occurred or re-occurred. Terrible moment for Lloyd and for Hastings.
Bishops Stortford efficient and organized-Hastings not far behind them. Difference was a set piece with that excellent delivery being so hard to defend against. Sam Hasler might have made a difference and hoping for a return to winning ways Tuesday night.
