OK, the heading may be a bit OTT given we are about to win the league by ten points at least. But maybe playing against Sevenoaks will provide the best possible incentive to finish the season with a victory.
Sevenoaks, of course, changed manager mid-term and replaced two thirds of the team that struggled in the first part of the season.
Currently top of the six match form table, they are perhaps the ONLY team who could honestly say "it could have been us" had they played the season with their current squad and that claim will be even stronger if they roll us over on Saturday.
So it will VERY satisfying to beat them.......just to prove the point once and for all ! 😊😊😊
I think you are both right, it will not be easy, but I think with momentum we have at
present, we will do it. I think an early goal would help. It would be good to finsh a great
season off with a win. All thanks to the incredible hard work from everyone since Gary
took over. ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU ALL FOR A TRUELY GREAT SEASON.
First of all well done to Sonya White , main stand tea bar lady who won the 50/50 prize of £218.00 with ticket No.434 . Thanks to everybody who purchased one of the 8130 tickets sold this season . Also thanks to all supporters who purchased a Matchday programme. Paul Hoggard produces an excellent programme for every match, which have really taken off in the last few weeks.
As for the game I think that most of our players thought they were on holiday in Ibiza, or wherever they go. Match seemed rather lacklustre, but good luck to Sevenoaks for taking advantage. Overall though a magnificent season, already looking forward to August.
....and well done to you, Phil and Barbara, for all your work raising money this season ! Thank you.
As for the game, it seems that the team on the hot streak inevitably seem to win close games and that's what happenened today. They certainly gave us very little up front through the whole game but I felt we had the better of the "good positions" throughout without ever making it count and if either team deserved the three points it was just about us.......but marginally.
Neither team will be happy with any of the goals conceded today and maybe it was inevitable that a mistake was the thing that decided the match.
We now seem to have had weeks of dry, rather bumpy pitches and a strong breeze that have made good passing football difficult. Give me a November mud bath any day !
So a disappointing end to a fantastic season....nothing else to say.
