Well that's certainly what we expect and I'm sure there will be another large contingent of United supporters there to make sure it happens.

Looks like the conditions will be rather different from 'Monsoon Saturday' when we blew them away 4-0 three months ago. I think we were a little flattered by the score that day and we will certainly need to be 'at it' to be sure of getting a result. One thing is certain, all our next opponents will enjoy having one last tilt at the Champions before we disappear off their radar.

I guess a lot of other clubs will be sorry to see us go as our travelling support will have brought some much needed additional income this season. My impression is that most of our opponents take very few supporters with them.

Mick, picking up on your point about travelling support I would have thought we would be far and away taking the most ,but looking at Web Pages it seem Herne Bay and Haywards Heath are more popular .Strange ?

Yes, it is curious to view the away attendances .
Mind you, Hayward’s Heath must be a very attractive side because they were watched by over 3000 at their last fixture

Interesting and valid discussion point, Phil.
I hadn't done any research here, I just felt that we are taking vastly more supporters with us to away games than any other team ever bring to the Pilot Field.
I guess geography is rather working against us here as we have no very near neighbours whereas there is a string of teams along the North Kent coast and it is far easier for the supporters of a good number of teams to make away trips to nearby clubs.
Herne Bay for example have a pretty easy journey to Sittingbourne, Whitstable, Faversham and Ramsgate and the fact they have had a good season will encourage more to travel.
And as Roger rightly says, Haywards Heath 'away attendances' will have had a big boost last week ...but not because that many of their fans made the journey.
Bottom line....I think it's a fairly meaningless statistic although the above probably explains why both are above us. 😊😊😊

Last went to Faversham 3 seasons ago on a cold, dark November afternoon. We played terribly in the first half and were lucky to be 2-0 down. Mood wasn't helped receiving a phone call from Mrs Booth Jones at half time reporting in to say what a good time she was having in India. Lovely weather etc, etc. Fortunately Hastings played much better in the second half and fought back for a 2-2 draw.

Congratulations indeed, today the result more important that the performance because I felt we were distinctly average. Not sure if it was nerves or the fact that Faversham players fell over every 30 seconds. Let’s have a championship performance next week.

Game play not that important, which was just as well, all about the result, which is very well deserved. Quick word with one of their players as they were coming off, he said Hastings totally deserved the championship for being top for three years and being such a strong team through out. Just cannot argue with that. Well done to everyone in the team on and off the field, and to those very noisy but brilliant supporters

JOB DONE.

Spot on, Mike.
We have been the dominant force in this league for three years and it was only just that we now claim the title and the one automatic promotion spot.
I would say the match itself was memorable only for a) Sam's goal and b) the celebrations at the final whistle.
To be honest I am just glad we have clinched promotion without having to try to win any more games on these dry, tired, bumpy, end-of-season pictures where any slick passing football is virtually impossible. This was not a great footballing spectacle.
Anyway, the job is done and "Congratulations" to all involved who made it happen.

Great result! There at last after three long Covid interupted years!
Three games left - so a real opportunity on Easter Saturday to celebrate before hopefully another bumper crowd and enjoy being formally crowned as deserved champions.
Well done to Gary, the team, Billy Wood, the Board and everyone associated with our club.

Sad not to have been able to be at Faversham, but wonderful to follow online as the job was finally done. It must have taken extraordinary resolve to shake off two years of Covid enforced disappointment, not to mention the mid-season dip in form this term. Many congratulations to all involved.

Thought our (and Rye's) former player Jono Richardson had a sound match for Faversham.
