Fair result , VCD decent side, especially going forward .I think most of our supporters ,of which there were a lot, would take a point.Some of the referees decisions very strange ,
A point gained on the road against a side that have had some decent results of late. Can't win them all! A lovely club with some excellent facilities and good people. Worth the trip as always.
Footballing Positives:
The work rate from the players was high. You wouldn't know we'd played on Saturday.
Louie Rogers made two outstanding saves.
Finn O'Mara is a monster.
Another commanding performance with strong tackles from Jack Dixon.
Sam Adams pressing from the front in his 595th game for Hastings.
Exciting game, quality pitch and opponents, and a valuable point. VCD played some good stuff but needed a sympathetic referee's assistance for both their equalisers. Both Hastings' goals came from open play and were well taken. Injuries mounting up which is a worry. Losing Tom was a blow but Marcus looked as good as ever.
Hastings players not at all happy with the free kick given against Gnarby from which VCD were awarded a penalty. Doubt if it was a deliberate handball.
No disaster only drawing today against an in form VCD side.
Could have done with Ashford and Ramsgate drawing today while Cray continue to self destruct, having two players sent off and letting in two last minute goals at Burgess Hill.
