Well I think we are all hoping for a New Year treat against struggling Lancing with a few goals, entertainment and a big Pilot Field crowd.   While we collected the points at Whitehawk it was due far more to a truly gutsy effort by the defence than anyone else and we will certainly want to see more creativity in this match.

Anyone know if Sesay is still with us ?  He hasn't featured for a few weeks and I for one would like to see him given another go if he is.  Not sure what he has or hasn't done to suggest he isn't worth another look. Dave Martin has had more chances without too much success.  Similarly I really want to see Lloyd back in the starting line up with Knory on the bench.  Otherwise I wouldn't change Monday's side providing Ben is fully fit.

Here's hoping for another 1K plus gate. I have seen some optimistic predictions in excess of 1200 but think we will fall a bit short of that. Hope I am wrong.

First of all congratulations to Mr.Phil Burton, a supporter for 40 years who won the 50/50 with ticket 652.Amount £248.50 one of the highest prizes ever.As for the game agree with Hastings United 2019 not the greatest but ground out the result .Sometimes not so easy to beat the lesser teams. Personally thought best player of the pitch was Lancing keeper. Tough game on Monday at VCD who beat Cray Valley today.

Interesting to see that Crawley only got 5 more people than us for a League Two game!

Didn't think it was an awful game- Corinthian away ranks as awful! Tom Chalmers was excellent again as was our back 4. No Ben Pope so Lloyd getting injured so early in the game was a huge blow. Difficult game coming up on Monday.

It definitely wasn’t awful, we shaded game though I thought their keeper was best I’d seen at PF for a very long time. Final ball needs to be a bit better but apart from that a good performance.

First comment.....What a remarkable attendance ! I didn't see that coming !
Given the huge attendance I was particularly keen that we a) won and b) provided a good level of excitement and entertainment to ensure 'the floating voters' will bother to come back next week.
Sadly I think we only fully achieved 'a'.

However for those who may question our promotion credentials following a narrow victory over lowly Lancing, I will say this.....
The league table suggests there are a runaway top six, yet three of those top six dropped points again today....and while we have a 100% record over six games, every one of our promotion rivals have been struggling to get anything like a winning run going. Clearly this is a very competitive league and every point has to be earned....let's not forget that !
When you also consider the team changes made today (five from the Whitehawk game, I believe) I think a lack of fluency is understandable.....but above all that, the important thing was we kept a clean sheet and took all the points again....every team in the country would celebrate that tonight.

Ok, the game wasn't a classic. I think losing Lloyd was always going to significantly reduce our fire power, Freddie struggled to make an impact and Andrew constantly threatened without quite delivering the killer pass. So for us 'all weather supporters' (rather than the 1200 who aren't even aware such a forum exists) let's celebrate our rock solid defence and going four points clear at the top.
Plenty more battles to come though !

Very impressed with the way Craig and Finn have developed into such a good partnership. With Louis in good form and good full backs in Tom, Marcus, Ollie and Kane our defence has been excellent recently. Our midfield players are also working really hard to give additional cover. Just concerned now about the temporary nature of Finn's tenure at Hastings and the injuries to Ben and Lloyd.

Haven't been at every home game this season but for the ones I have attended, Lancing have so far been the best league opponent I've seen at TPF who gave us a very good game and were unfortunate not to have come away with a point. Andrew Sesay for me was the standout player and thought if TC wasn't playing so deep he could have had a few too. Really hope that Lloyd's injury isn't too serious but on a positive not a great start to the new year and a big well done to Gary, the players and the rest of the coaching staff for getting us into the position we are in now. Not only was I surprised to see results yesterday go our way but also a record league attendance which was equally excellent to see. Wonder how many of the 2017 will be at Faversham on Saturday. Just hope we don't get too many injuries or have anyone leaving in the next few weeks/months as anything can happen at this stage of the season.

Interesting how people see matches differently. Thought Lancing were well organized and hard to break down but Hastings did enough to deserve the 3 points. Andrew had a lot of the ball but was, for me, a bit disappointing in his end product. Tom Chalmers is probably the best of our wide players and can be very effective running from deep. But I would prefer to fit the excellent Marcus Goldsmith in at right back which would mean Tom reverting to a more forward role.

Tim I totally agree with your post. End product needs to improve, and Tom C is more productive from midfield. But it all about using the players Gary had and what a fantastic job he has done so far.
