First of all congratulations to Alun winning £115.50 on the 50/50 with ticket 39221. Good win tonight ,thoroughly deserved although Whitstable not the greatest. I had Tom Chalmers as man of the match. No long throws from Ollie apparently..injured or tactics ? Nice to see one of our old players Peter Petkovic at the game.
Very important that we won and won well today after recent results and we managed to achieve that. Also would have awarded MotM to Tom rather than Ben. I would say Whitstable's position in the league doesn't lie and they were the weakest team to visit the Pilot Field this season.....and with that in mind I think maybe we could have hoped to make a few more clear cut chances from open play this evening. Thankfully our lady ref wasn't afraid to give penalties which helped the scoreline better reflect our overall superiority. Yes, it was a good win but I think we'll have to play with quite a bit more fluency to really trouble some of the tougher opponents coming up in the next few weeks. Good to see nearly 800 up there tonight. That sort of attendance would have been unheard of in recent history on a cold November evening.
Much improved performance. Yes Whitstable were poor, but I've seen us struggle in times of need against teams near the bottom. Passing was much sharper and more accurate but we do seem to still rely on Penalties,,,, they were very well taken by Ben though. I thought the ref had a good game generally and let the game flow. That said, the first penalty,,, she missed the clear one and then seconds later gave awarded one that was less clear. 😂. Overall, I went away happy last night...and cold,,,, note to ones self, wear warmer clothes until the end of March at least 😂

Thought we set up differently tonight with Ollie playing in centre defence with Ryan moving into midfield. Marcos has been one of our better players this season and he slotted in well on the left of our defence. So it was disappointing he picked up another injury (reoccurrence?) in the second half. Enjoyed the performance of their no 9- a real old school centre forward! Disappointing we allowed Whitstable back in the game after we had been so much better than them but it resulted from a spell of careless passing. A bit relieved when the ref gave that first pen! Tom Chalmers was excellent again-our own Jack Grealish??? Hope he works on his left foot to get even better. Gary Elphick and Thomas Tuchel lookalike did a good job on the side. Sorry not to see our ex player Harry Stannard in their line up.
Very good to see such a positive responce from the team last evening - against an admittedly weak (and rather tubby) opposition. Good too the excellent attendance.
As Tim says above, the only significant tactical change involved Ollie Black playing in centre defence. I thought that a very good move. Ollie has developed hugely and he has great potential to be an excellent first choice central defender. (He might though still take a long throw every now and again! - none last night, perhaps a shoulder issue?)
Yes, I thought the ref had a good game (apart from not giving the 'first' penalty, before immediately awarding, as Windy says, a less clear one - to the ire of the Whitstable bench.) No possible doubt about the second awarded penalty, though - absolutely clear cut, and no protests from the opposition.
Tom Chalmers is indeed developing into a very good player on the ball. I suspect that there is great potential for yet further improvement to become more of a 90 minute player.
On the negative side, there were spells last evening when we again struggled to move the ball quickly enough against the four at the back. We were allowing them - a very average side - a lot of time to get set. And there were instances (although less than recently) of us giving the ball away in dangerous situations. Let's hope these get worked on, as we have a very tough one coming up for our next home fixture against Cray Valley.
