Hi All

A new roundabout on the A259 just over a mile out of town will likely cause problems for supporters travelling back to Hastings tonight.

Assuming that the work is as scheduled the A259 will be closed from 8pm and the two easiest ways of avoiding this are via A20 up to Ashford and then down on the A2070 to Brenzett corner.  A much quicker way though is to take Burmarsh Road at the Prince of Wales (about half a mile from Reachfields) --follow this for a mile and turn left at Botolphs Bridge Inn where the road will take you back on the 259 the other side of the roadworks. This loop is no more than a mile and a half in total, but beware, the first section is quite narrow and locals will be doing the same in both directions.

Be careful to take that left turn at Botolphs though and not head out onto the Marsh where you could be lost forever no.

"Beware the moon lads, and stick to the roads."
Thankfully full moon is tomorrow night...otherwise no chance of getting home alive across the marshes !

Strange game. To be honest we were as poor as we have been at any stage this season in the first half. Louis was far the busier keeper and our three forwards, Lanre, Kenny and Dave, barely made a useful contribution between them. We struggled to keep possession in the middle and were troubled by their speedy right winger.
To be fair, Gary and Tom were missing from Saturday so this was a rather unusual line up.
However we still went in one up when Sam H. fired home from the spot after a clear handball by a defender. Was the defender given a firm shove as he went for the ball causing the error ? Probably Yes !
Not sure what happened at half time but I guess the hair drier was used because we came out a different side.
Kenny, in particular, who had barely won a ball in the first half, was suddenly on fire winning every header and proving a real handful.
Super Sammy made it 2-0 with a shot curled into the bottom corner after a fast break from midfield and Kenny made it three with a great finish over the keeper. We then could have scored at least two or three more and looked dangerous every time we moved forward.
At least half the small crowd went home very happy.
Big thanks to Hythe Club Man for his heads up on the road closure and the alternative routes home. I think many of us would have been in trouble without that information.

Not a great game but the best team won, and hopefully the league momentum can be restored. best thing was the marvellous sausage baguette best food I’ve had at local football. However, more importantly would like to wish Hythe the very best in sorting their problems out and you find a good future.

Have to agree, not the greatest. Actually think the first half was the poorest this season. As Chris says have to build on this at Phoenix. Glad you enjoyed your Sausage.

That was a good game to win considering our struggles in the first half. Good to see so many players working so hard, especially the Hastings locals Sam Jack and Kenny! All down to the quality Hastings air. Well done to Ryan for covering in defence and what an impressive full back Marcus is becoming.

Great risk of a hangover after FA Cup exit , so full credit to having successfully come through
Squad is looking a little thin and am assuming Scott has moved on?
Phil, is your reference to refreshment a euphemism?

Thought our first half performance was similar to that first half at Broadfields. In both matches Dave Martin and Lanre struggled to have any impact as Jack and Sam worked hard in midfield to establish control. Second half much better. Remembering Burgess Hill I wasn't relaxed at 3:0 but the extra energy from our youthful subs helped to keep things well- controlled.
