ENJOY HASTINGS FANS 💕
For those of you that are new listeners this is a Fan's podcast about the greatest football club in all of Sussex(if not the world)... ⚽HASTINGS UNITED!!🏆,
Looking forward to listening to this, especially "Save The Printed Programme Compaigner". I'm sure my love for the printed match day programme has not gone unnoticed.
It is all part of the match day experience, important to many supporters. I think the major problem in recent years, is programmes have got too big. A 16-32pp programme is all that is needed. Why do football clubs strive to produce a book for every home game? This is putting untold pressure on themselves, especially if you play twice in a week.
I remember in the 90s both Stamco and Hastings Town producing 60pp+ programmes week in week out. What a strain that must have been.
Sadly last season was a low point for me, with the club failing to produce a programme or even a team sheet for supporters, at any of our few home matches. This has broken my chain of having at least having one home programme from the Pilot Field since 1946. A sad time indeed. I did manage three away programmes, but sadly all digital. Them being Haywards Heath, Sevenoaks and Aveley.
Fortunately, we are back to printed programmes at the Pilot Field this season. Although it is only early in the season, have managed to secure printed programmes from Beckenham Town and Ramsgate. Sadly digital at Harefield United.
For some of us, the end of the printed programme will be the end of an era. I'll possibly become a stay at home armchair supporter when this happens and watch the games digitally!
lots of people keeping that alive and like yourself I'm a massive lover of the blessed 🙏 printed programme, i dont feel like i was at the game without one. Hopefully we can get some traction behind this as i was quite unaware of the upsurge in clubs doing e-programs I've reached out far and wide (with tbh quite limited success) if anyone has any suggestions on ways forward and ways to promote this good cause please say 😁
