I see that according to this weeks Observer that a planning application has been put in to build 86 houses on the Pilot Field. Will miss the old place.

Is there a link to the article Phil as I tried to look on the observer but couldn't find one. Also heard we were meant to be submitting a full application by the end of September for Tilekiln but not heard anything since the launch of the Tilekiln Football Park Website.

Not an article Tom....it’s on Page 64 in the classified section, with all the other planning applications. Somebody has also requested permission to lay a baseball pitch on the Firs.

Let's hope Tilekiln is sorted before the Pilot Field development starts. Hope we don't end up homeless and ground sharing...

It’s very clear from the Pilot Field application that such cant happen. There is a holding objection to the application At the Pilot Field until the Tile Kiln application has been submitted ( but you will see from the planning portal that there have been three preliminary submissions on Tile Kiln for relevant issues)
Planning will not accept the loss of a sports space ( the Pilot Field) unless there is Clear provision for its replacement

All of this is accessible on Hastings Borough Council website, find a planning application
Then search on Elphinstone Red and Tile Kiln, two separate searches.
Background documents are all worth a read to stay in the picture

I beg to differ Bookworm re planning and sports spaces as the council were more than happy to put Harrow Playing fields up for development with no provision for any playing fields in the locality!

You can differ all you want but you are incorrect in relation to this application. I can’t comment on the past
On 6 October at 16.58 Jo Edwards contacted the Planning Officer, asi previously stayed setting out their holding objection and the reason fo4 this
They can reconsider their position when the Tile Kiln application has been submitted in full. I advised earlier that some progress has been made in this
Suggest you read the documents to stay informed

I wasn't commenting on the detail of this application, rather your last sentence " Planning will not accept the loss of a sports space (the Pilot field) unless there is a Clear provision for its replacement."
Sport England objected to the Harrow Playing fields being part of the local plan and therefore available for development, but the Council successfully lobbied the inspector to have it included without any provision for its replacement. Green space means nothing to Planning!
