Useful run out by the U’s today at Mid Sussex League Westfield with a 8-0 victory. Could have been at least a dozen. Daniel scored A hat trick and was my man of the match. Nice to see a lot of our supporters enjoying the game in the afternoon sunshine, crowd must have been well over 100......more than the Cup Final.
I see that Hythe Town have indicated On their website that all their pre season friendliest have to be played behind closed doors because of FA and government guidance
That is indeed so and all Isthmian clubs have been told that they cannot play friendlies in front of spectators. Knowing the Westfield ground layout and their current standing in the pyramid perhaps you guys have found a way round things. If not it may be advisable to delete this thread.
Why delete it??? We haven't got anything to hide.. We went by the rules as it stated that grassroots are aloud spectators, obviously When you are playing in our stadium it's different. But for me fans should be let in as we ain't dumb we know what's safe for our self and for others.. And are they playing higher teams if so that's why you are not allowed supporters in the ground..
Apparently the FA are going to "clarify" things shortly. All pre-season matches involving levels 1-7 clubs must be behind closed doors whether home or away. Think that clarification is much needed and overdue, but of course the situation can change any time, any day.
