Hastings United Football Club Statement – Novel Coronavirus. COVID-19
In recent weeks, there has been a rise of confirmed COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) cases in the United Kingdom. Hastings United would like to reassure supporters that we are putting in place measures to help prevent the spread of the virus, but need the full co-operation of our supporters and visitors.
All oursupporters and match day staffare asked to observe good hand hygiene practice and there will be extra hand wash and soap in all of our toilets within the ground and bar areas to assist this. Supporters are advised to bring hand gel with them if they have some, and - in addition we would advise that you refrain from shaking hands with other supporters and staff at the groundas this can transmit viruses very quickly.
If you are elderly, or have underlying health conditions please refer to the latest Government advice before attending a game or event at the Pilot field. If you are in any doubt, call111 for further advice.
Supporters displaying symptoms that are consistent with the virus are advised to familiarise themselves with the NHS’s advice on self-isolation and not attend fixtures.
Likewise, please follow the latest Government advice and stay indoors and avoid contact with other people if you’ve travelled to the UK from the following places in the last 14 days and have a cough, high temperature or shortness of breath, even if your symptoms are mild:
Italy
Mainland China outside of Hubei province
South Korea
Cambodia
Hong Kong
Japan
Laos
Macau
Malaysia
Myanmar
Singapore
Taiwan
Thailand
Vietnam
Whilst there is currently no precedent to close, postpone or cancel games at this time, we continue to take advice from the FA and the Isthmian League. This guidance will be continually assessed and monitored and further updates will be issued when appropriate. We are relying on everyone to play their part and be transparent about any potential level of risk. It will help you, and help lower risksin the stadium on match day.
Think the UK is the only country left where you can play football in Europe. Now almost everything is closed in Holland. Musea,Theatre, concerts, all events where more then 100 people will come together are closed. Universities also all closed. And everyone is urged to work at home! Hopefully the UK is not underestimated the situation.
See Premier League and Football League have postponed all games until 3rd April. Anybody know about our league and game at Phoenix tomorrow. Their average gate is 85 ,stand more chance of catching Coronavirus in Tescos....other supermarkets are available.
