itn the warm up we don;t use the other goals . the goal were rope of now it is becoming a mud heap.is this good for a team that plays out from the back perhaps our co could answer this
Since Simon Rudkins left I have noticed that the pitch is cutting up more and the goalmouths are really muddy which they never used to be as the pitch was always immaculate.
I know we have had a lot of rain lately, but last season we used to comment on how excellent the playing surface was week in week out and we had a lot of rain last year as well.
I noticed at Whitehawk on Tuesday that we didn't play out from the back much because their pitch was a bit rough and uneven and it was too dangerous, so we seemed to play a lot of long balls.
So yes I suppose it could affect our style of play.
Seen us playing the ball around our penalty area a lot recently but very little playing out from the back. Seem to have lost the ability or confidence to do this recently.
Totally agree Tim. We play the ball back and forth across the pitch to no avail and invariably invite pressure which them results in a big boot upfield!
I'm all for playing out from the back but we need to be more positive and get to the midfield then up to our wide players.
We were 0-2 down on Saturday and at times it felt like we were wasting time at the back as if we were the ones in front.
That said I thought Ashford were well worth their win, a big strong confident team and we didnt get one bit of luck, but its still in our hands. 3 points on Saturday is a must.
Would be tempted at the moment to have more strength in midfield playing Craig Stone as a defensive midfielder in front of our defence. Play Ollie at centre back and bring in Sam at left back. Miss his left foot for dead balls.
