Big,big game coming up on Saturday. So what do you think the crowd will be. Certainly biggest of the season. I’ll guess at 900.

Highest attendance in our league so far this season is 1006......Can we beat it?

Sadly, according to the forecast, we have the next coming of the apocalypse due Saturday afternoon which could well affect the attendance. Let’s hope it holds off to 5pm 🙏🙏

Well the Armageddon predicted by some has not materialised....almost perfect conditions above ground....rather heavy under foot though.
I'll guess a 920 gate today.

Sorry but that’s been coming for weeks. Can’t remember the last time I saw an opposing keeper at the Pilot Field fail to be tested in 90mins. A few decent half chances but Ashford done a proper job on us today and totally deserved the win. They just sat deep all game, waited for us to give the ball away, which we did regularly, and then just did us on the break time and time again. Jake Elliot excellent, Ollie Black had a torrid time the rest certainly never gave up and gave it everything but their looked a big gap today in physicality and current form between the two and I do worry about the long term effect of this result. Still top though.......

Spot on John.
Absolutely no complaints today, we were well beaten by a side who did a thorough job on us.
Hopefully some drier weather is coming soon because we are now struggling to play on these heavier pitches.
All I can say is that if we don't win the league, I hope Ashford do because I don't want to meet them again in the play-offs.
Very disappointed but not terribly surprised....we have been far from our best for a number of weeks.

Spot on John, no complaints. Positives....highest league crowd since Wimbledon 2004/05, highest 50/50 prize ever, sold out of programmes and the food and beverage outlets seemed to be doing a roaring trade, and we are still top of the league.
However need to sort out before next week as Chichester will be tough.

Totally outplayed by a very good Ashford team. Not sure how the season is now going to play out.I hope this result will really hurt, which it should. The problem is that we are drawing to many away games, considering we have only lost two league games against the same team. Not sure our new signings are working even though it's early days as Ashford's signings were game winners.Hope to see a reaction to this result of our season will start to disintegrate.Fantastic support and still Top of the League.COYU's

Good point Darren. Sam Hasler was excellent and Fagg was the best player on the pitch. Not bad for your debut. Not sure about either of ours yet but very early days.

That is 4 games in a row where Hastings have struggled against Ashford. They set us problems all over the pitch- May and Smith up front, Hasler and Condon out wide, Prescott and Fagg in midfield and A tough well-organized defence backed by a good keeper. Pleased to see Adam come through the game unscathed but, apart from that, it was a worrying performance. Need to get back to winning ways next week.

Disappointing result and performance. possibly worst of the season that I've seen. Ashford were stronger and quicker and looked more up for it and certainly tactically their manager got it spot waiting for our passing to let us down. We really have struggled lately and as Mick says the heavy deteriorating pitches are making it tough to show our quality and the manager and the players struggled to adapt to find another plan today. Good attendance and atmosphere although not sure any new people watching will want to come back to watch us on that performance. Thought we were home and dry a few weeks ago but on today's game you'd probably make Ashford favourites to win the league. We look like we need a winter break! I think Condon was the player we had in pre season that was signed with great optimism from the club and he certainly was effective for Ashford today but May, Hasley and Fagg were all superb for Ashford.

We are still top and winning the league is still in our hands!

Yes Ashford were the better team on the day but not necessarily the best team throughout the whole season.

We have only lost 2 games so far, and Cray Wanderers lost 4 games all last season so very rarely do teams go through the whole season unbeaten.

Also we beat them 3-2 at home last March, but did that put them off, No, they put the result behind them and went on to win the league.

This is what we need to do, we need to accept and put the Ashford result behind us and get back to winning ways starting with Chichester next Saturday.

As you say Adrian, we are still on top, it wont be easy, but I would rather have our remaining games than Ashford`s, and they have lost 7 so far, with some tricky games to come.
