Too angry to give any in depth report at the moment but Absolutely gutted for the boys today. After an even first half thought we completely dominated the second half and deservedly took the lead through Daniel only to have it cruelly ripped away after a blunder from Louie right at the death. Difficult to pick out any player as all were magnificent but for me Dixon was different gravy! The final result was totally undeserved and i’m sure Worthing will be absolutely delighted to come away with a draw but let’s be honest, the mistake from Rogers looks like it can happen at any time in any game. Magnificent effort though from the players today.

I feel much the same as John. Very very disappointed to lose a certain place in the next round after many first class individual performances. From where I stood I could not judge whether it was an error by Louis or a foul on him which was not given. Certainly he had two hands on the ball and appeared to have taken it cleanly. However, the fault should not necessarily rest entirely with Louis. The freekick which led to the goal was the result of an absolutely stupid push in the back on a Worthing player by - I think - Ryan. It really is basic not to concede a freekick in the last two minutes of a winning game with the goalkeeper having to look into the sun! The only mitigation he might claim is that the referee had declined to give a freekick the other way a few seconds earlier for another (admittedly less clear) push. Even then, we might have snatched victory in the dying seconds had we not found the post instead of the net. Grrrr!

It’s simple Rogers made the wrong decision should have punched it, to catch it at full stretch is always risky.

Magnificent performance from the whole team. Dominated 2nd half. Unlucky not to win it with the last kick of the game when dicko hit the woodwork. Ref missed a blatant penalty with a handball. Both teams played quality football and you could not tell that they were from a higher level. I agree that the free kick given away was needless. The thing I don't understand is the negativity aimed towards louis. IF he made a mistake for the equaliser then fair enough ( mistakes happen), but we seem to forget about all the quality saves he has made this season and his ball distribution has been exceptional. We can't blame him for not going through. If anyone is to blame it's the ref. He gave us nothing in the second half, I was too far away to see if the goal should of been disallowed. (I believe the chat that Hinsellwood had with him on the pitch at half time influenced his decisions. Still unbeaten all season.Boys did good

Hastings played really well in the second half and should have won. Annoying to give Worthing a chance by conceding a silly free kick. Whole team excellent today.

Just a ridiculous comment blaming the referee for not winning the game. Actually thought he was excellent throughout and much of the rubbish we get at the Pilot Field could well have booked 3 or 4 of our players in the first half.

That's why football is so great. Everyone has different opinions.

I don't blame the ref for not giving a foul on Rogers. With such a crowded area where he was liable to be impeded by players from both sides he really should have chosen to punch it. My annoyance is with the silly free kick we gave away allowing Worthing the opportunity of a free cross to put us under such pressure.
That said the ref did bottle two clear penalties for Hastings...firstly a blatant tug on Lanre right under his nose and a cross blocked by an arm way over shoulder height in what was clearly a 'blocking' position not a 'natural' position. Even after all this, we still managed to hit the post in the dying seconds and Worthing will know they got away with it today.
Putting aside my disappointment, this was a cracking cup tie with both sides trying to play attractive passing games. I felt Worthing marginally 'won' the first half while Hastings were clearly the dominant force in the second. A great advert for non league football.
Worthing will start favourites for the replay but if we can exploit the weakness of the extremely unimpressive Worthing keeper and Lanre can continue to terrorise the Worthing number 2 we must go into it with a chance.
Certainly encouraging signs for the coming season.

Worthing fan in peace.. I thought that your team were outstanding today. Yes we were poor throughout especially in the second half where we couldn't string two passes together but it takes guts and a good team to come out and dominate a team from the division above like that. We stole a point in more ways than one. Both your wingers especially number 8 were outstanding and with Pope you have a very good striker for step 4. As for the replay anything is possible and some changes need to be made for me to see us winning the game.

Is there a case for playing Ollie Black in the replay to really pile pressure onto their keeper from throw ins ? Can't remember him winning or even going for any cross yesterday, relying solely on his defence to clear the danger. I guess we may have the same ref who would surely have to show the same benevolence towards aerial challenges with the keeper as he showed yesterday.

I agree with JohnW ..I thought the ref had a reasonable game ...yeah he missed at least one dead cert penalty under the new rules but he let the game flow...so many refs are too quick to blow up for every infringement these days ...i think its the main reason why yesterdays game was entertaining .   As for Rogers, from where i was sitting it looked like he dropped a catch which he probably wishes he now punched...that said, he punched well clear a cross near the end of the first half ....then you get half the crowd shouting  " why punch it ? gather it " ....poor lad ..he cant win ....he s still learning.    A big worry would be , who have we got to stand in if he was ever to get injured or suspended (he took a booking yesterday for e.g.) . We cant rely on stand in Sammy Adams, especially  as Sam rarely gets a full game these days. Would like to see a reserve keeper on the bench .

Worthing fans sitting behind me were far happier with the end result than we were that's for sure...

Great game yesterday though ...really good entertainment ...that pitch needs some rain soon though ,,,its not helping our passing game , there was no zip to it . Good luck in the replay to Chris and the lads

I spoke to several players after the game and they all said Louis caught the ball and was fouled when Worthing scored. I don't blame the ref as it was a crowded area and thought he had a great game. Missed opportunity but let’s hope we get a better result on Tuesday.

Windy, speaking to Sam the other night , he said that he has had to take over as goalkeeper on 6 occasions and has never been on losing side,

What worries me though Phil is, he rarely has a complete game, The likelihood of Sam still being on the pitch at the time,  in the event of the need to replace Rogers is less than it use to be, I know Sam is a great keeper too but just would be happier with a spare keeper on the bench. Long term injury to Rogers is a greater concern,

Some excellent match highlights on twitter from Joe Knight. Looks like the blatant handball some supporters have commented on was in fact the correct decision from the referee. Can see why people thought that as I did at the time but it looks like shoulder and face. At the same time it does look like the second Worthing goal was offside. With regards to the late equaliser some will say inconclusive but from the highlights it looks like the Worthing player wasn’t even looking at Louie and he just dropped it from the accidental contact between the two.
