Please can someone fill me in with the backstory as to why the Observer coverage ofUnited is non existent Now?

I know that Simon moved on but is there a sports reporter replacement

As a Cornwall based supporter the Observer on line presence is crucial, as are posts from supporters after matches on the Forum. The only real way of staying in touch with what’s going on other than the views of Tim’s cat.

Is the situation due to improve?

Used to be 4 editions of the Observer, Hastings, Rye, Bexhill and Battle. These have now been amalgamated into 2 editions Hastings and Rye edition 1 Bexhill and Battle edition 2 . Don’t know why they did not just make one edition as the two that we now have are pretty much identical.
As for local sports coverage it is pretty mediocre. Very little about United, Bexhill or Little Common but loads about Brighton & Hove Albion , Sussex County Cricket Club and Rob Cross the darts player. Not sure where the Observer get their United information from but seems to me that somebody in an office Googles our web site and copies Joe Knights interviews .
Not sure whether the club could appoint a Press Officer who would keep the Observer up to date but have to say there is very little to read especially when it costs £1.15.
I only buy it to make sure that I am not in the obituary column.

Thanks Phil
This places even more pressure on you and your posts after matches, from my perspective
Very disappointing if no improvement planned
Could the club make representations
I can’t check if I am in obituary column now

Symptoms of the death of local print media & associated websites I'm afraid. the remaining minimal Johnston Press sports team have to cover all Sussex papers so expect pretty much nothing original but B&HA stories with little snippets about us occasionally taken verbatim from our site. Theres pretty much no-one left to do anything else.

Just wondered if the club plan to publishing timely match reports on the official site this year. We were clearly fortunate to have Sean's accurate and objective reports a few years ago and the reports haven't always been to that standard since.
Always good to read what Phil and JohnW have to say on this forum, particularly at away games I don't get to, but you would not expect (or want) these to be a succession of objectively reported incidents which is kind of what you need from an official match report.
I only ask because there have been no reports on any friendlies to date, which is fair enough, but also nothing so far for Saturday's league game.
