The Club is delighted to announce that former Brighton & Hove Albion, Worthing and Burgess Hill Centre Forward Ben Pope becomes the second confirmed new recruit for the up and coming 2019-20 season.
Pope, a prolific scorer and previous promotion winner with Worthing, joins the 'U’s from Lewes and will add more physicality and significant firepower to the Hastings United forward line.
On signing Ben commented, ‘I’m really excited to be joining Hastings United, they’re a big club with a lot of ambition. I felt that I needed a new challenge and I have heard a lot of good things about Aggy and the way he likes his teams to play, so that made it an easy decision for me. I can’t wait to get started and push for promotion this season.’
Great to have you on board Ben.....COYU’s!

I'm very pleased to hear of the signing of Ben. A more physical central striker is something we have sorely missed. I think either Daniel or Davide (but not both) would complement such a player. So, yes I would think one or other might well go.
The other announced signing - Aaron Condon - described as a creative wide player, might also suggest that Dayshonne might not be coming back.
Doubtless things will become clearer, but it is good news that Chris has been active early in the close season.
May be a little early for clear positions to emerge as clubs will be exploring options. Remember even retainers like Boris eventually became leavers, depending upon what suits
