After the one man show from Jordy Mongoy against Whyteleafe it is now a travel to HBFC200a.jpg

Herne are currently the number 18th in the League with 17 points out of 20 games.

They scored 35 and conceded 51 goals. Top scorer is Embery with (!) 15 goals.

Herne plays at:The Altira Park Stadium( former known as Winch's Field), stanley Gardens, Herne Bay Picture

And we? Hopefully we will continue to play like we did against Whyteleafe and will Temi Eweka start in the Line-up?

Save journey and COYU'ssssssssssssss!

There is a sign in the centre of Herne Bay with an arrow pointing north which reads .’North Pole 2675 miles’.After todays performance not sure that most of our 50 plus supporters would not have preferred a day out there. We were awful. Could not believe it was the same side that had an excellent win last week. Think that Herne Bay watched us at Phoenix as they played the same way to score against us. We play high up the field and they just boot the ball over the top. Can’t really think of any positives, but massive improvement needed next week.

No positives. Early defensive c0ck ups saw us off to yet another bad start and it got worse just as the boys were working their way back into it. All four goals were bad ones, the fourth extra frustrating as United worked hard to put right a terrible 1st half. Ironic that the only good goal of the afternoon was Daniel's effort to make it 1-3 at half time.

Two goal line clearances, home keeper getting away with some poor kicking and no luck for the U's in the Herne Bay box. But we didn't deserve any after that 1st half. Awful. Out with the defence tool box again Chris.

Why is that Steve? The club were more than happy to take all totally deserved praise lorded on them last week after the magnificent 3-0 win over Whyteleafe. You would think on Twitter the league was won and we were already promoted by the always positive brigade. Why shouldn’t fans then be equally critical after the debacle of yesterday as long as it’s a balanced view alongside some of the more recent good displays,  Or are you worried about being called a keyboard warrior on social media for having an honest view by those same supporters as many others have been on here.

It has been quite amusing of late, from certain people who really should know better, who use their own constant negativity and constant negative comments about the negative comments on the forum. Do they not realise it actually makes them just as bad as those people they are moaning about? Why even come on here? As long as we are winning we are happy to blow smoke up everyone’s backside but as soon as we lose or put in a shocker, and there have been more than a few this season, there is a deafly silence from those same supporters, but they are then more than happy to then moan at anyone who may have an opinion on that game, on the forum.

Chris isn’t stupid, he knows yesterday was not good enough, he knows he will get some deserved stick for the performance, it comes with the territory, and he will take it on the chin and work even harder, but let’s have honest reviews of performances, good and bad, from all supporters. You are certainly a supporter who’s comments I respect as much as any Steve so give an honest balanced view alongside the view you gave on last weeks super performance. I am sure that will keep both parties happy.

Won’t comment on performance as wasn’t there, However, reading reports on the last 2 away games, it seems we have a problem, our away form is middle of table form, so are we not adjusting properly, are we not prepared? Or do players have problems in their heads. We will still make playoffs but will we be relying on results in other leagues should we win the playoffs.

After the euphoria of last week's win over Whyteleafe I had a hunch that yesterday was going to be a struggle.
Looking at the pre match predictions on this site it would appear that most supporters thought we just had to turn up and that was reflected in the way we played in the first half especially.
I thought we would struggle against their strikers and their pitch which was the case and by the time we adjusted to both of these, the game was as good as over.
Our away form is of concern considering our opponents yesterday had lost 9 out of 10 home games. We are being carried by our home form.
Nice comment from Chris,on the coach back, apologising for the performance.Did he get things wrong or was it the players?

The defence tool box I mentioned earlier may have come out too many times? A settled defence is presumably what is keeping the Cray bandwagon running.

The frustrating thing is the lack of defensive consistency. A phase of letting in a couple every game, then a few clean sheets, then back to letting em in again. And just as we start to get results against other play off sides with 1st class clean sheet performances against Ashford and Whyteleafe we're letting in ten goals to East Grinstead, Phoenix Sports and Herne Bay. Seen it so many times down the years as managers get that consistency up and running.

Yesterday was as bad as it gets. And it was an ex United player who started it all off. He cannot have believed the space he had for the 1st goal.

Anyway, hopefully Joe Knight videoed the Rocky Horror Herne Bay show. Chris will do the necessaries like previous promotion winning managers did. As then, we have the players, it's that consistency we need. We are very close. 2nd in the league, top scorers, amongst the best defences but still lacking the consistency of performance which should be somewhere high up the scale between yesterday and the weekend before.

Over to you Chris. 👍

Surprising how good Hastings can be one week and how bad the next. Perhaps, as others have suggested, you need a good, settled defence to be consistent. We are capable of beating anyone in our league but if sides like Faversham, Herne Bay and East Grinstead can score with ease against us then it's best not to take anything for granted with this U's team.

Didn't go yesterday, but in the short time he was with us Danny Leonard looked a good player.
