Important win and good performance tonight albeit against a quite awful Herne Bay side. Dominated from beginning to end although still the odd customary defensive frailties in that first half when we could quite easily have conceded a couple. Second half was a complete non event and was almost too easy at times but after the massive effort put in on Sunday we’ll take that all day long.
Didnt learn much tonight. We know we can hammer most teams in the league but it’s beating those top four or five thats important and so far we have lost against three of them in two league games and a cup So time to turn that around.
Apart from that it’s all looking pretty rosy as we move into a number of very winnable games over the next few weeks.
If the rumours are true sad to hear that Christie and Golding have left us. Both excellent players who will be missed but hopefully releasing a bit of money for a right back perhaps?

He just carried on from where he left off Sunday Phil. Best player on the pitch Sunday and likewise tonight. What a fantastic job Chris has done with Dixon as well. It’s like having a new signing this year, been outstanding.
Completely right about Hassan Ibrahim. A magnificent ninety minutes. He absolutely bulldozed their midfield; every time anyone tried to take a touch and get their head up, they'd find him ploughing in and dumping them on their backside. I love seeing a player with that kind of appetite for the scrappy stuff at the heart of the game. Beautiful defence-splitting pass for the final goal too.
As for the rest...well, the five goal margin was about right, even if both sides might've scored more. Credit to Herne Bay for keeping going until the end, but they were very poor. A good way to put the Cray game behind us, even if, as John says, the task ahead remains the same: to become a team that can beat those around it as well as those far below.
