Couldn't be there today sadly, against Waltham Abbey! Good away win though.

Another super result for Hastings this afternoon, with a totally deserved victory and a pretty typical Hastings performance. For 40 minutes Hastings were at their scintillating best, totally dominating a team lying 2nd in their league and unbeaten at home this season. Chance after chance came and went and 5-0 would not have flattered us but as we approached half time only a Sam Adams strike was the difference between the teams. But just before the break Waltham scored a decent equaliser with the striker tapping in at the far post with Manny failing to pick up after a fine passing move. There had been some warning signs in the previous 10 minutes with some all too familiar mistakes from the lads at the back.

Second half was a slightly different affair with Hastings continuing to totally dominate possession but without making the clear cut chances of the first half and Waltham just started to gain a bit of confidence. Then came the big moment of the game. With 10mins remaining, the Waltham striker got the wrong side of Tom and had a one on one with Charlie who pulled off a super save to keep It all square. A minute later, Daniel pounced on an error by the defender and squared to Golding to tap into an open goal. Just two minutes later the game was over after some typical brilliance from Golding. He moaned, he groaned, he sulked for 40 mins but the thing with Dajon is he can always perform that piece of brilliance. Put clear down the right he turned the Waltham left back inside out, left him on his backside, before burying in the far corner to give Hastings a deserved 3-1 victory.

Big performances today from Daniel and Sammy....surprise surprise, Ibrahim also did well with his first start of the season but Dixon was my MOM. We still had some moments at the back today and better sides will punish us and we certainly look a better team with Christie in there but that is just being really picky as the whole team played pretty well today. Only disappointment was what looked like a really bad injury to Sonny at the end. That kid has had no luck of late so fingers crossed he's okay.

Another really good day and bring on Hitchen next!! nothing to worry us there.

Excellent report as usual John, actually thought Manny.....smallest player on the pitch ran his socks off. Overall though a superb team effort, long may it continue.
