I disagree with Chris V R on a couple of his points. I certainly didn't see Antonio as MoM. Some good touches indeed; but he was getting caught off-side and he wasn't getting past Ashford's full back consistently. I was surprised when Dayshonne came on that it was Callum who came off, rather than Antonio. Yes, Ashford were limited, and we should have scored several more than we did, but I didn't see them as hopeless. I have been critical of Davide; but I too thought he had a good game yesterday. His work rate over the 90 minutes was very good indeed. Yes, excellent support for Ashford which is most welcome. And yes, Barnwell failed to impress.......though the measure of the game was that the scene seemed set for him to score a late and undeserved equaliser!

And me......I’m with Geoff. Antonio did okay, nothing more. Rodari and Ollie Rowe MOM for the 2nd game in a row and I actually thought Ashford were okay. They kept possession and passed the ball around as well as any team Hastings have played since Greenwich. They actually played a very similar style to Hastings, but lacked our quality. Missed chances once again nearly cost us but a fully deserved victory in front of a decent crowd yesterday, in fact the 4th biggest at step 4 yesterday.
Thought it was a frustrating game, although not as frustrating as it would've been if they'd nicked an equaliser. There's been much comment on here about over-passing but, for me, we were guilty of under-passing on Saturday. It was as if, having got Callum Davies in behind their defence and seen Davide Rodari flit easily past his full back early on, we couldn't resist trying to hit that killer pass or go on that brilliant mazy run. Too many early balls, too many touches; too little of the pass-and-move that this team is capable of and that would, I think, have taken the game away from Ashford entirely.
Having difficulty getting into Suzysues post match interview with Chris. All I get is “Content Unavailable “. Can a computer expert, probably a 6 year old kid, sort it for me please.
Please let Phil G ‘s premuim bonds come up and then we can have pilot field saved by Phil’s windfall and donation to the cause of the lovely old ground
Couple of millions Phil we will make you chairman and erect a statue of you like the Busby at Manchester Utd , Moore at Wembley , Jack Walker at Blackburn and even like the old Wacko Jacko at Fulham
Thanks Chris would love to win a million quid on the Premium Bonds. However I only have £1 so very unlikely.
On a serious note I understand that it will take a lot more than a million to revamp the Pilot Field.
