After the good display and great result against Herne we are back at TPF against
The Wasps are currently the number 21 in the Table with 21 points out of 26 games. Scored 36 and conceded 67 goals.
Last season we won at home 2-0.
And we? After the great display against Herne we all expect a lot of our team. EGT won a bit unexpected their last game 2-1 against Chipstead so hopefully the players are all back from the Flu to bring in another good performance.
Sadly work interferes again and Twitter will keep me up to date. Mind you, the rain is still falling and I have my doubts whether the game will go ahead despite the best efforts of Groundsman Rudkins.
Some good individual performances today. Once again, great effort from Callum and Dayshonne. But, oh dear, we looked so shaky at the back. East Grinstead were poor but they could and probably should have scored at least a couple more than they did. Perhaps it was down to the number of games or the night before but we were well below our best as a team. The positive is that we looked a little more secure in the second half and got all three points in the end. Well done for that!
We shouldn't really need Charlie Horlock to keep us in the game against East Grinstead in a first 15 minutes rather similar to the Ramsgate match. 2-1 probably flattered Hastings at half-time but we ended up deserved winners without ever being convincing. Greenwich on Saturday will be a good test for our evolving team. Thought East Grinstead played good football-as they did last season-and showed good quality going forward for a team struggling in the lower reaches of the table.
All things considered another decent performance today. With so many players out with injuries or flu and a few players looking a little leggy today I thought we did okay against a lively East Grinstead side. Outstanding performances from Callum and Sam Adams today but my MOM........Davide Rodari. Told you that penalty incident on Saturday would be the making of him. Now lets see on Saturday how far this team have really come against the league favourites Greenwich.
Yep ... I also been singing praises of Davide last 3 matches
Some nice touches and passing today ... big enough to admit it , I was watching his game today
One year ago we drew 4-4 with them away , different team from today . Think young Bradley started for us .and they had a very quick player Tashi on loan from Tonbridge who was electric
9points of play offs but surely we are too far away ... or are we ???
Thought the first half was uncharacteristically sloppy and perhaps a little complacent, with possession frequently squandered through unforced errors. The halftime score reflected the brilliance of Horlock's goalkeeping, some very average finishing and some poor defending from East Grinstead, and ruthless opportunism when the ball fell our way in their penalty area.
In that respect, you can measure the progress from earlier in the season when the youngsters were playing tidy football in the middle third and often being comprehensively out-thought and out-fought in the decisive moments in either penalty area. Quite the reverse yesterday.
The second half was much better, even if it felt like the game should've been wrapped up long before it actually was. I love watching Calum Davies: his runs off the last defender's shoulder are relentless, well-timed and constantly stretch the game out to create space for others. He may not be scoring at the same rate as when he arrived but he gets smarter and harder to defend against with every game.
Finally, I was entertained by the sight of Davies and Golding keeping the ball in the corner flag at 3-1 up against nine men. I'm all for caution, but...
I was chatting to John the other day and 100% agree how hard working Callum is!! He just keeps going and is a very committed player indeed. I feel we have a really good young side developing in front of our eyes!!. Chris Agutter is a really decent guy, had a chat after the Herne Bay game and I'm very impressed! I personally believe that he is the best young manager in this league. I can clearly see and believe in what he is trying to do.
