After the 2-2 draw against Horsham we are back at TPF against

And we? Some decent results lately but we have now 3 games at TPF starting with VCD and then Chipstead and Guernsey in which we have to get 7 points I think. How will the youngsters do back at home. Our starting line-ups are average 21 year old boys.
Will Kenny Pogue score again? All this you can see if you come to TPF. Enjoy the game.
I am sure I heard the phone ringing from Italy on the Inte Milan hotline ... well they can have him back ... sorry been saying it all season ... hopeless !!
well cant believe we put out two different sides today first half they couldn't cope with us really should have been 4 o at ht,although they were a 100% better we seemed to lose our ryham in second half how much of that was down to them not sure, but our play in first half was best I've seen in a long while now seem to be going in the right direction hope callums knock dos'nt keep him out for tues .
Once again, a game of two halves. We looked an exciting pacey side in the first half. Two good goals, hit the post twice, might have had a penalty, should have been out of sight. In the second half we lost pace, started to sit back, hit poor long balls; and, make no mistake, we were very fortunate to get all three points. Charlie Horlock made a string of excellent saves including one to keep out a free kick which was brilliant. Without him we would not have got the result. Somehow Chris has got to get his exciting young players to function for 90 minutes!
Yep, as you say Dave, first half, so entertaining and should have been 5-0, what on earth happened at the break, did Chris tell them to try and lose? they were a totally different team, cannot get my head around it.
Someone needs to tell Davide to hit the ball with his laces instead of sidefooting every shot. Looks like he's lost his confidence. A goal could change that, but at the moment struggling to deserve a start.
Sam Adams back to his best today.
For various reasons, that was my first game for two and a half months and my initial reaction is that it was far more entertaining than I could ever have expected based on previous match reports I have read, both here and elsewhere.
In fact I'd go further than that.....for half an hour we were absolutely exceptional and but for bad luck and our ability to repeatedly squander great positions we'd have had five or six and the game would have been over.
Typically all those chances went begging and we inevitably ended up desperately hanging on for the points. How often does that happen ?
The key problem today was not finishing moves off when we were so dominant in that first period. We MUST learn to be clinical. So much good approach work was wasted by a weak finish, a hurried last pass or a poor decision 'to go it alone' rather than play someone in. Clearly we do have some very talented young players and sometimes it was only decision making that let them down.
Once we learn to finish moves off then we will finish games off...and we won't have to endure these nervy endings.
All in all though... I was pleasantly surprised by the entertainment we got today, particularly first half.
Good to see Mick back at the Pilot Field. That was the first time I have seen Callum Davies and Dayshonne Golding play and they certainly gave us more attacking threat. Ansu Janneh continues to improve and good performances from the rest of the team gained us a valuable 3 points. Both Sam's very good with Sam C doing a good containing job on their no 10 when he switched to right back. With Sam Beale, Jack Dixon and Tom Vickers all missing the young team did well to hold on in the second half.
Really entertaining game, I’m not sure if my old heart can take many more of these nailbiting finishes. Great team performance and credit to VCD, who came back well to make a game of it after getting the run around for most of the first half. I’m so glad Calum is OK for Tuesday, 6 goals in four games says it all. Well done Chris for giving youth a chance I feel confident about the future.
