And we? It was a time ago that we won in the League ( Faversham 1-0) so the win against Ashford shoud not only brought valuable 3 points but maybe more to regain some confidence.
Calum Davies (here in the shirt of former club Leatherhead ) scored 3 goals against Ashford and was also
successful as the scorer against Cray on the day he signed for us. So 4 goals in two matches; looks very promising.
So if we want to progress this is a game we must win. Hopefully a lot of supporters will make the trip.
Played at Lancing on a 3G pitch and absolutely no atmosphere. Started like a house on fire, two up in 8 minutes.
However due to either inexperience or complacency we let them get back into it. Perhaps if Goldings shot that hit the post had gone in it might have finished the game off. Ollie Black and Ansu Janneh substituted at half time with Crutts going to left back. Looked a lot more solid.
Second half was a bit of a damp squib, plenty of huffing and puffing, some good passing by both sides, but can’t remember a single save by either keeper.
Crowd given as 144, looked a lot less, perhaps they were all in the bar.
On a positive note I think that’s five games unbeaten, no doubt Chris knows there is a lot of work to do, but let’s see where the next three games all at home lead us.
First 15 mins we were unplayable then we stopped playing the ball on the ground at pace and let them back in the game. Second half saw us with lots of possession but no end product. We need to learn quickly how to keep a lead but I saw some good signs and am hopeful for the future.
