Absolutely gutted, Love Dave and the nicest man you will ever meet.
BREAKING NEWS
It is with great regret that the Club announces the resignation from the Board of Directors of Chairman Dave Ormerod.
The Club received advice of Dave's resignation this morning in which Dave advised that due to his personal circumstances changing dramatically he could no longer commit so much of his time to the Club, although he hoped that he would still be able to find time to attend as many home matches as possible.
All at the Club are sad at the above news. Dave has been around Hastings football for half a century and was an integral part of the Club and the Club's committee in the eighties and nineties during which time he was the Club's treasurer. Dave went back to being a supporter during most of Dave Walters time but when the opportunity came for him to take over the Club with Daren Burney & Peter Sherlock as majority shareholders in mid 2015 he was quick to seize the chance. Dave's hard work and thoroughly likable character will be badly missed at the Club, but the Club fully appreciates he needs to put his changed personal circumstances first.
Dave will be absolutely welcomed at the Pilot Field whenever he can get there and the Club wishes him well as regards to his changed personal circumstances.

One of the nicest person going even come up for the summer works unlike some. And even said he applicants what we done for the club and helping him out. Just shows there's a lot going on its all messed up and if it ain't sorted a lot of people wont bother going. But for me I will always support the lads no matter what.
Smashing bloke ,done an enormous amount for the club over the years. The least the club can do is make him a Life Member. Like Hastings85 will support the team no matter what.
Lovely bloke and a true supporter. I hope he gets to lots of games and hope hs personal difficulties are resolved positively. I too will support the club regardless of who is a director, the club is bigger than all of us.
My wife & I had a meeting with him on Tuesday about a project she is working on. He was entirely friendly and chatty & helpful to her - a real gent. There was no sign of any problem then, so whatever has happened between then & now must have been a shock. Good luck Dave.

Really sad to hear about this ,,,, but I think you’ve all summed it up ... he’s probably too nice to be a Chairman and it was always going to be like that for Dave. I really hope his personal life problems are not too serious . Good luck Dave and we’ll all see you soon hopefully 👍.... in the meantime ....”HASTINGS TIL I DIE ! “
Will Dave retain all of his shares and do we need to keep on eye on ultimate control of the Comany
I did post on this issue a year or to back, no one ran with it, but there are issues to scrutinise carefully
Dave Ormerod accepts Presidents Role at the Club
DATE POSTED: 11/11/2017
BREAKING NEWS
The Board of Directors of the Club have acted swiftly to reward and acknowledge the fantastic work undertaken for the Club and Hastings football by Dave Ormerod over the last half century or so by making him a Life Member of the Club and by offering him the position of President of the Club which the Club are delighted to announce Dave has been pleased to accept.
The Board of Directors hope that the above puts to bed the ‘rumour mill’ that has apparently already started over the reasons why Dave felt he had to resign from the Club, which were simply as stated in his resignation advice, due to personal circumstances outside of his role at the football Club.
