After the big disappointment against Thamesmead it is time to for rehabilitation against AUFC-logo-main.jpg

Ashford are currently the number 23 in the table with 8 points out of 14 games.

They scored 11 and conceded 31 goals. Old Hastings player Tyrell Richardson-Brown scored 2 goals.

They lost 5 and drew 1 of their last 6 games.

And we? Think this is the ultimate test for both Management and players. Surely Asford are with Shoreham the weakest teams in the League and HU must build confidence with not only a good win but even more a good performance with lots of attacks and only heading one way!

Hopefully a lot of supporters will see this!

COYU'ssssss.

See they won their last league game 10-0 and are top of the form table scoring 27 in 6 games. Doesn't get any easier for the team but hoping to see a couple of new faces tomorrow and a much improved performanc.

According to today's Observer the manager said he was going to be using more Academy & Youth Players in future and be guided by players like Sam Adams as the more experienced ones were not performing as expected!

That would be ridiculous,Young players should only get experience in a team what is winning and playing well!

I have just read the Observer article and I hope Chris is not getting himself in a bit of a pickle at the minute. Yes, he is absolutely right, the last three games have been awful, and yes, he has probably had the most experienced team he can pick out on the pitch, but don't make a judgement on these players after these three games when you keep playing them in different positions.

Sam Beale has played right back, left back and left midfield. Dixon right back and holding midfield when he loves to get forward and score goals. Crutts, left midfield and then one game in his favoured central position. Sam Adams off the front and then out to left midfield. Vickers, holding midfield and then centre back etc etc etc, and all this whilst playing poor old Kenny up top on his own. Lets give Dixon and Crutts more than one game in the middle and give them license to get forward. Johnno did the holding role all of last season and was the best in the league at it, why change. Stick Sammy Adams and Rodari up top together or play one alongside Ken. Play players in their correct positions for more than one game and have a real go at opponents and then if it does not work, look at the youngsters, we will all support that. Chris is taking a monumental gamble if he now looks at filling the team with youngsters again. I agree, they could do no worse than what we have seen last three games but with three of our four next games away to Shoreham, Ashford and Horsham, three defeats there could even be too far for our patient owners and most certainly for our frustrated and impatient supporters. I do wish him all the luck in the world and really hope he turns this round.

Hmmm, this is becoming very very similar to the Nigel Kane season a few years ago which was the last time we dumped higher earners and relied on promising kids after a poor start to a season ( when Terry White resigned ) things did not improve and we only just escaped relegation when we signed a few experienced players near the end and none of those youngsters managed to stay in the squad in the following seasons anyway.

Haven’t seen the Observer article myself but sounds like history repeating itself here hopefully with the same end result at the very least although this season will still be seen as a severe failure imo if we don’t challenge for the playoffs by the end of it but this direction doesn’t inspire optimism that we can achieve that.

Cannot argue with that Tim. If fit I would have Whybourne with Rowe, Vickers in midfield and Sammy alongside Kenny or Rodari. I have a feeling though we may well be both a long way of the mark.

if chris is going to use the youngsters now as per the article , this smacks of the same article that Adam wrote or was ghost wrote 🙄 atvthe start ofvthe season... is this actually his direction or imposed thinking ...??

The only glimmer of light is that the brilliant Bradley Pritchard gets pulled back ...

I am totally getting pulled all over the place , trying to accept the selling of the clubs direction by as a loyal supporter ...

It’s been all doom and gloom this season and particularly the last fortnight. Things were not perfect today, set pieces poor, Kenny still up top on his own, even when 3-1 down, defended poorly, but for me that was a massive improvement and if your going to lose a game, lose a game that way. The effort and desire today was superb and great to see Crutts and Dixon back to their best. And in young Ansu, we had the best player on the pitch. I thought he was magnificent. I thought Ashford were decent, but my god did they moan and time waste their way to victory.

Something to build on today and we carry on like that we will start winning games but a real sign of the times that you drag positively out of a defeat, but I’ll take anything at the minute. A massive improvement from all today.

Worrying stories around the ground about Johnno today. Someone please tell me it’s just false rumours.

Didn’t see much of the first half ,but if we can tighten up at the back and play with the passion and effort that we showed in the second half we’ll be OK. Agree with John thought Ansu was easily Man of the Match.

I know I haven't been to many games this season so I can't talk about previous performances but that was an absolute shambles and a shadow of any Hastings team I have seen over the last seven years.
From what I'm lead to believe,we are a team of local players so that we get good attendance at training sessions. If that is true then something is dreadfully wrong. There appeared to be no understanding between the players,we couldn't string passes together and as for the defence, the less said, the better.

Today was a big improvement on recent performances and there was more fight today but I thought we would have been very fortunate to get a replay, they should have been out of sight by the time we got back into it and better teams will continue to punish us.

Where was Sam Beale today? Injured?

God knows Dan, rumours on him and Johnno spreading like wildfire. Just don’t think us supporters can handle another top player leaving or anymore bad news. Let’s just hope they are both injured or some other reason because if they have gone as well then the club really is in total meltdown. Or perhaps someone is just stirring the s**t.

I am really sure I saw Sam Beale in a tracksuit waking onto the pitch before the game but could be wrong ... either he went home or I am wrong ...

Hastings play a great passing game deep in our own half-well it was great for Ashford in the first 20 minutes-when Hastings started terribly. Wish we could pass the ball in the opposition half. Our right back did ok but why didn't Akoto start? Why is Sam always played on the right? Is Tom Vickers carrying an injury? Sam Beale, Simon Johnson?
We kept going well today although heavily dependant on winning throw ins to have any threat. How many coaches do you need to perfect a game plan based on a long throw. Hope Ollie doesn't get tennis elbow otherwise we are stuffed.

Not into 'taking positives' from another defeat. Yea it was better than Tuesday but we gifted Ashford that game with an action replay of Molesey away. We have a decent team but keep tinkering with players and where they play and we leave decent experienced blokes on the bench. We are already in the 'mathematically possible' bunch of teams hoping for maybe making the play offs. Utterly depressing.

disappointing result.heard jonno was told to stay away from the club by a board member which seems a strange thing to be told.
