After the first win of the season it is now against   carshalton

Carshalton won their first game of the season away to Ashford United 0-1.

Remember our games we played against them last season: We won at home 5-0 and drew away 4-4.

Star player of them: Tommy Bradford.

Carshalton play at Memorial Sports Ground, Colston Avenue, Carshalton Afbeeldingsresultaat voor Carshalton Athletic 3G surface at Colston Avenue

And we? Surely it was a big bonus to pick up the 3 points against Corinthian for a decent crowd of 436!

It was quite a different team our manager Adam Hinshelwood started with comparing our first line-up last season:

Josh Pelling back in goal, Beale , Carey , Aziaya en 2 x goal scorer Jack Dixon Jack Dixon were new but also youngsters Pritchard, Climpson and Rodari started the game.

Hopefully Rowe is soon back and we can see lot of goals from Billy Medlock.

Safe journey and COYU'sssssssssss!

Couldn't make it tonight, but would have taken a draw and four points from first two games. Well done

I second that Phil. Without both Rowe and Johnson as well, a load of new players, a player making his debut and a handful of academy players I think the management team and players have done extraordinary well to get 4 points from the first 2 games. Dare I even say that this was the type of game that Hastings would have lost last year? What a start by Adam and Chris.

Scrappy first half with Carshalton dominating tbh, our chances were from distance. Second half we picked up somewhat and started to play a bit more, Rodari wasn't getting much change out of their big centre backs and when jack Harris came on the goal followed swiftly ( after they had opened the scoring ) Billy had a good free kick just wide but overall Carshalton edged it and possibly should have won with the chances they had. A very good point in the end and one I definatly would have taken before the game!

Feels like we burgled that point, and well done for doing so! We never really threatened until Jack came on and even then it seemed that it wasn't really because of anything we were doing but more that Carshalton suddenly had something different to think about. Far too many times we had the ball just either side of the half way line and decided to chip it / launch it in the air to our forwards. Our very small forwards. Their defence gobbled this up and launched any number of counter attacks, many through their number 7 who swept up brilliantly all night.

Our goal was a bit of a ram raid and a few of us thought a foul could have been given by Jack, and whilst there was a question mark about the ball being entirely across the goal threshold, various fans were adamant it had definitely crossed the line.

However; really can't grumble about a point at Carshalton which after all is what we got last season! Well done to the players and staff plus the decent number of fans who made the Monday night journey. Onwards and upwards - top of the league!!

That will be a lesson in the art of 'Smash and Grab' - they had chance after chance with their #11 running at us over and over again. Great point blank save by Josh - straight into his hands. Their #7 was great - full of tricks and pace.

Yet we battled for the full game and came away with a share of points - I have seen United play better and end with nothing.

Great result - New players and young players battling away for the common cause - you cannot fault the commitment.

Quick question - did the shape of the team change at half time? It looked like the two Sam's (Beale and Cruttwell) swapped positions - would you say it worked?

A really committed performance by the whole team. There wasn't a foul for the goal and the ball did cross the line and I had a very good view of it. Impressed with Michael and Sam B in particular in a defence that looked solid all night. Midfield looking OK and good to have Curtis join us. Davide will get goals for us and Billy was unlucky not to score. Jack H deserved his goal and changed the game for us when brought on. really pleased with 4 points from games against two of the better teams in this division. Just hope we can lose the habit of not performing against some of the not so good sides. Good start, well done Adam, onward and upward.

Really important to remember a few things from last night. We were away to, according to the bookies, the favourites for the Bostik title this season. We were missing undoubtedly our two most influential players in Rowe and skipper Johnno. Hard to believe but we had just one player, Crutts, who was in the starting line up against Dorking just 3 months ago. Five academy players in the match day squad, a debutant and a completely new back 4 playing their 2nd game together. Pretty amazing result considering all that.

Will Johnno be back Saturday and do we have any news on the extent of Ollie's injury?

Yes a good result, but reading your reports and can't really comment but have we been fortunate to pick up 4 points, it could easily have been just the 1. How many additional players are required if we are to get promoted.

Johnson was missing last night due to Family commitments so should be available for Saturday.
