Always nice to keep everyone updated of what is going on around the Ryman leagues in the build up to the new season so we can keep this updated over the coming months with any news us supporters get.

Carshalton have signed Chipstead top goal scorer Raheem Sterling-Parker

Greenwich have signed Walton Casuals trop scoring midfielder Jack Sammoutis and Whyteleafe keeper Ben Bridle Card. Defender Danny Young and winger Ian Macdevitt are both released.

Dorking have signed highly rated  ex Ebbsfleet striker Luke Moore.

Lewes appear to be retaining most of last years squad with ex U's Steve Brinkhurst, keeper Chris Winterton and utility man Lloyd Cotton all agreeing new contracts whilst six others are retained on contracts being Jonte Smith, Stephen Okoh, Ronnie Conlon, James Hammond, George Landis and Matthew George.

Cray Wanderers have resigned Phoenix Sports striker Michael Power. He previously scored over 70 goals in 215 appearances for Cray.

This image is not always correct and it needs pointing out that Frankie was a model pro and well-liked at Hythe and he only left because his form and confidence was shot and he was not getting any football.

Perhaps you do but I did say "not always". It is nice when a guy gives out the general impression that all he really wants to do is play footie (and score goals). Whatever experiences others have or give that was our overiding opinion of Frankie Sawyer at Hythe so just wanted to say that. Sometimes a player just has to move on and it isn't all about the cash.

He's having a knee op during the summer though so they won't have him early on in the season but hopefully for him personally he'll perform decently for them after that. ( never going to wish a player anything other than a good recovery! )

Such a shame to see standard go, but going back to a couple of years ago now, could Chris cumming Bart not do a job in replacement? Also why not bring back bright temba. Thought he was very good for us and had a lot of potential? I feel we have let a few youngsters that had potential gonover the last few seasons. I see hinshelwood wants to bring in local talent so those are the 2 I can think of locally

Take it you mean Stannard?  I have not heard or seen anything yet but if true that is a massive loss. My favourite player from last year and an incredible talent. I am sure he will go all the way in football.

Bright Temba and Chris Cumming are just light years away from the level of talent we need at this club to get us promoted and to be honest, from what I have seen this year, both would struggle to get into the academy side. That is not an insult, more of a compliment to the players we have and what I have seen this season.

I'm sure I read somewhere that stannard has gone off but thanked everyone for his time at the club. I may have misread and hopefully have but if not surely we need to start looking at replacements, as much as I would love it to be local lads come in and replace I just can't see it happening as I can't see any local lads around that could do a job. Temba and cumming Bart are probably the best local youngens around? Especially as from what I've seen Jamie crone has gone back to little common and is struggling to find goalscoring form. Hopefully frannie can score the goals as much as he did this year.

Matt cruttwell, Jamie crone n Jason taylor would be my two choices of local talent we've seen at pilot field both worthy a shot at this level

And to your message steviesteve... crutwell is very hot and miss from what I've seeen, Jason Taylor I agree with you there fast strong and scores goals. And for crone like I said before he hasn't found much goalscoring form as of late. And that's in county 1 surely if you can't score goals there you can't score goals in Ryman?

Didn't Dom sign Joe Shelley who had scored lots of goals, from a county league side. Not exactly a rip roaring success at the Pilot Field.

does not matter anyway Dixon good player but probably be banned most games if stannard has gone big loss but the worst signing of all is the return of carey the same player who said he would not play in ryman south what is the new manager thinking he says carey will come in as backroom staff but play when needed why we going backwards we should be looking for better players and backroom staff then carey so lets start with getting a decent keeper pells back maybe

To many negative comments regarding Jack Dixon - he did not receive any strait red cards last season, he got 2 yellows at Hythe (Goldmith was ref) and 2 yellows against us so missed a total of 3 games through suspension !!!!!!!!!

Sam Adams signs for a further year at Hythe. They also sign winger Ryan Palmer from Ashford whilst Craig Cloke leaves.

18 goal striker Robert Denness leaves Greenwich due work commitments.

Horsham have been very busy adding a number of players to striker Rob O'Toole earlier in the month and have now signed Darren Budd from Bognor.

Greenwich have signed ex Millwalll defender Chris Parr from Leatherhead.

And Billericay owner Glenn Tamplin signs another 6 new players and admits the weekly wage bill is now up to 25k!!

This is so difficult to understand at the moment. As until we see the new structure, knowing where we need to finish is difficult. So the signing of an expensive squad may not be justified.

Grays Athletic have announced the signing of Kiernan Hughes-Mason.

Kiernan came through the youth ranks at Tottenham and Arsenal before signing for Millwall. During his career he has also played for Grimsby Town, Chelmsford City and Welling United.

He finished last season at Hastings United, whom he joined from Leatherhead.

Hughes Mason has signed for Grays. Scored a load of goals and became a bit of a cult hero with some fans but never good enough in my opinion and right that he has moved on.

Very hot and cold is Kiernan - be interesting to see who replaces him. I would probably have kept him on to see if he could become more consistent. Will always remember him for his performance on a sloping mud bath at East Grinstead and that THAT goal at home to Carshalton. Good luck at Grays, fella.

While I wouldn't quite descibe my attitude to Kiernan Hughes-Mason as that of 'cult hero', I was one of those who thought that his positives outweighed his undoubted negatives. He could, on his day, score remarkable goals and turn a game. Always the possibility of something happening when he came off the bench. I wish him well.

I am sorry to see Kiernon leave. I thought he was a player who could change a game for us in a short time. He not only scored goals he had a lot of assists. Good luck at Grays, always be happy to see you playing in Hastings colours again. Thanks for the entertainment.

Shomari Barnwell off to Solihull Moors. Good luck to him - bit like Kiernan, hot and cold. Played well in the 4-4 at Lewes and got a great goal at South Park.

I'm more relaxed about Shomari going than I am Kiernan. Not that I ever imagined that Shomari would stay. But, indeed, good luck to him.

But why are any of you concerned about the players that have left. None were outstanding and we were 20+ points short of where we need to be. Either you trust Adam or you don't.

I don't think it in the least follows that to have a view on the merits or otherwise of players who have left implies any lack of trust in the new management. Of course Adam - like his predecessors for that matter - will decide who he wants. We will all express our own views on the choices he makes in due course. That will be of greater importance; but for now it is legitimate and at least of some passing interest to air opinions on those who are leaving.

Chris - it's nothing to do with trusting the new boss - just observations on two players. I cant wait to see who Hinshelwood signs. Yea - 23 points adrift of the top two - its what we've seen in past seasons - especially with Peter Sillett and George Wakeling each needing time to get all the ingredients right. Different now because of play offs, of course. We were close last season - only the top two lost less games, we scored loads - good foundations for another go next time. Throw in consistency for starters.

Barnwell was never going to stay I think. He will do well when he finishes developing physically and as a player. I just hope that we don't have to look for another manager and ln Adam we have someone here for the long run. Most supporters will give him time to build a squad of his own but he needs to commit to us in the same way. We don't need destructive comments if we lose a few games but encouragement of the players and management to produce what we all desire.

I think a 3 year contract is commitment. And if he does well he might be worth a few quid in compensation if he goes to a higher level club.

Most contracts are negotiable. I don't want compensation I want stability and success for the club I love. We have had too many managers and now I just want Adam to stay and get us as high up the pyramid as he can.

But surely you have to accept at our level, if you are successful you attract attention from higher up the pyramid. Sadly this the situation we are in playing at a low level.

Big Shaun Okojie moves from Corinthian to Aldershot as mentioned on another thread.

Horsham lose another big player with Tony Nwachukwu moving to Worthing.

And Faversham sign 5 as below including a Hastings old boy, as they signal their intent to push for promotion next season.

Ray insisted the raid for extra strength signalled a renewed quest for promotion at Shepherd Neame Stadium.
And he refused to rule out more signings as the 2017/18 Ryman League South season nears.
Ray said: "The timing of the announcements is important.
"We're close now to starting pre-season - we're only four weeks away.
"Hopefully it will give the supporters something to get excited about. It shows the club's intent."
Lilywhites favourite Simon Overland has rejoined the club as keeper from local rivals Sittingbourne, while Will Godmon departs.
Gillingham scholar Sam Lawford, 18, who finished last season at Ramsgate, has signed along with Herne Bay's Mark Lovell, 33, to provide firepower up front.
And Ray also brought in two central midfielders - Sheppey Utd's Danny Walder, 27, and Ramsgate's Macauley Murray, 22.
Ray "I'm delighted to announce five new signings in one day.
"All those players are going to offer us something and add to the strength in depth.
"If you add those five names to the squad that we finished with from the back end of the season then you can see my intent in terms of capturing a little bit of the momentum that was built off the pitch with the new build and the new changing rooms.
"I've got the appetite to build a side to challenge again.
"There were a couple of aspects during the season that I felt we could improve on. "One of the things that stood out for me last season was that at times we didn't have the strength in depth to challenge some of the better teams - just not a competitive 16.
"I want the competition for places, I want to see that drive and that hunger, and that's only generated by creating that little bit of competition within the team."
He said others may still join the squad ahead of
"I couldn't say I'm 100 per cent done - I'm always on the lookout for something.
"The key, as with these signings, is that they've got be improving us.
"They've got to be better players coming in, so if there are players out there that I feel can improve us then I'll still be looking for those to improve the squad."

Steve Watt has made a fantastic signing in Maidstone striker Alex Flisher, who turned down a new contract at Maidstone. Clearly some serious money there.

Carshalton continue to sign big names after the capture of Raheem Sterling-Parker. They have now signed last years Ryman top scoring defender Jordan Cheadle from Walton. He scored 20 goals last season and have also added Corinthian defender Danny Dudley. They are clearly showing their intent for next season.

Another team doing that are Hythe who have captured Folkestone favourite Ashley Miller from Folkestone. Always been impressed with him as a striker but very hit and miss in his consistency.

Faversham have made their 8th signing in Mcauley Murray from Ramsgate.

Hoping for some positive news soon from Hastings as a lot of clubs doing their business early this year.

So much going on at Billericay Town at present. With all their money they are certainly the team that everyone seems to hate at present. Latest news is the possible arrival of Joe Cole and the following statement from the club.

The Club is aware of some negative comments on social media, made by Concord Rangers Chairman Antony Smith.

Billericay Town Football Club’s players and supporters had very much been looking forward to the friendly away fixture against Corncord on Saturday 29th July.

In light of these personal, negative comments, directed at Glenn Tamplin, as a Club we do not feel it appropriate to expose our travelling supporters to such open negativity – particularly when the fixture was pitched as a pre-season ‘friendly’.

The safety and enjoyment of our travelling fans is of paramount importance to us as a Club and we have therefore had no choice but to cancel the Concord Rangers fixture.

The Club are pleased and proud to welcome Leyton Orient to a home fixture at the AGP Arena on Saturday 29th July.

Let's be honest, apart from a decent performance in the play off semi, Emptage was average at best all season. Decent squad player but can't see he is the type of player we want going forward.

Of course, I wish Callum well; but I agree very much with John - his performances last year were competent at best - he did not stand out in any game I can recall.
