After the good performance against Cray is is another big game against
South Park is currently the number 10 in the table with 67 points out of 42 games.
Scored 86 and conceded 73 goals. Top scorer Lavery with 26 goals .
Remember our home game; http://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/isthonesouth/match/22304
South Park plays at: Whitehall Lane, South Park, Reigate
And we? Yes back in a play off position again and a huge test against a team who were for long also a con-tester for a play off place but had to play too many games in a short period.
Hopefully we will have our day with our top scorer Francis Collin ( already 27 goals ) on the score sheet again. A win and we will be 4 points clear with a better goals difference.
What a fantastic performance tonight albeit against a team who looked like they cannot wait for the season to be over. First half was as good as I have seen since Carshalton and possibly all season and we could have easily gone in 6-0 up. We had to settle for 3-0, with the first being a deflected shot from Johnno after a superb passing move around the area. This was followed up by one of the goals of the season, with Johnno hitting a 30 yarder with the outside of his foot into the top corner. The third came courtesy of Bodkin after great work from Leonard who was magnificent all night. In between all this the excellent Crutwell skimmed the bar from a tight angle. Stannard and Collin had shots just wide and Leonard caused havoc every time he touched the ball.
Second half never quite had the same intensity but goals from Collin and Barnwell, both one on ones with the reserve keeper gave us a very comfortable win. The only disappointment being a shaky 10 mins when South Park scored and even had the chance to pull it back to 3-2, but to be fair even 5-1 flattered them.
So, I reckon a win on Saturday and we there particularly if Carshalton and Lewes draw and dare I say we are hitting a nice bit of form and peaking just at the right time. And for those who don't travel away, and without putting too much pressure on him, some of you fans are in for a real treat when you see Leonard for the first time on Saturday. He was electric tonight and South Park just could not handle him. What a signing he could be for us.
The other thing to point out is we played our very best 11 again (Less Pidge), and our very best formation with the Collin Bodkin Stannard triangle back up top. We just look so much more comfortable playing that way. It really was a super nights entertainment
Totally agree John, every time we attacked it looked as though we would score, and as you say Leonard a revelation. Check out his goal on the Cray highlights. Surely 700 on Saturday.
I think we all feared that the season may just peter out after Godalming but two excellent away wins has now made us firm favourites for the last play off place.
Totally agree about the Bodkin, Collin, Standard triangle, John, and very much looking forward to watching Leonard on Saturday for the first time.
It would be good to secure the last place at Lewes on Monday...no doubt in front of the largest away following of the season.
Whatever happens in the last few games, it is impossible to argue that this team hasn't given us plenty of entertainment....and goals....this season.
Sadly, I couldn't make last night's game. I was there on Sunday against cray which was a superb performance!! Danny leonard looked great in that game and scored a great goal! Let's hope we can keep him. Great result - now, let's get promoted!!
First time we've won at South Park and what a performance. 4-1 at Cray flattered us given the chances the Cray 11 missed but the South Park scoreline does United no justice. Superb with two excellent individual goals from Johnno and Shomari and an important one from Bodders who needed a goal. Top class performance and if we get into the playoffs on that kind of form.........
Danny Leonard was exceptional as others have already remarked and so was Crutts who had the left flank to do with as he pleased. Good to see Bodders score - suitable reward for his all over the place grafting.
Well done all of you and while it would be good to see Crutts in midfield and Akoto at left back - nobody deserves to be dropped to accomodate this and if a team is running into form then why chop and change?
Where do others now stand on the 'where do we play Crutts' debate ?
I strongly supported the idea that he MUST play in midfield at the time we had rather lost our passing game, creativity and goal scoring. It seemed criminal to play arguably our most creative player at full back while we struggled so badly further up the field.
However with Frannie, Harry, Matt and now it seems Simon and this new lad, Danny Leonard, all in cracking form, it is questionable that this is the right time to disrupt the defence again.
Maybe at this point we should 'stick' with Crutts at full back but with John Akoto on the bench should we need to throw Crutts upfield.
If this group of players can stay fit and keep performing we must be in with a shout should we now make the play offs. I would say anticipation is as high as it was ten years ago.
I signed up for some family time this Saturday in a weak moment which p****s me off big-time now, but it's great to see that the team is getting its mojo back. I'll be there in spirit - and on Twitter - on Saturday and am going to be at The Dripping Pan on Monday whatever happens. Walton have got nothing to lose or gain as they're not going up or down -we need to keep it tight & professional and grind it out if necessary. Or win 6-0. I don't care which.

Crutts had just about his best game of the season last night. Was fantastic marauding down the left hand side and looks so much more comfortable with Stannard in front of him. No coincidence that as soon as Harry came off and Kiernan came on we conceded straight away down that side. His dad will kill me but he has to stay there for rest of season and if its any consolation he is now the best left back we have had for many years.
