I hope this turns out to be untrue. While racism hasnt gone away - it doesnt make itself apparent like it used to. Older supporters will recall some of the stuff that used to be heard on the terraces many years ago and to hear of this allegation comes as a big shock to be honest.

Football for all its faults has been a leader in bringing about racial harmony within the sport. I recall when Carlton Wynter started playing for Hastings Town - wow, a black fella playing for us. Times have moved on and the team 'thing' (the same in Rugby and Cricket of course) has done nothing but good in the intervening years.

Hopefully this is a misunderstanding, something heard wrongly.

Still goes on I am afraid and one of my 13 year old players from my youth team experienced similar a couple of weeks ago, so still happening at all levels of football.

This is obviously a very serious matter for the club and if anyone does have any news or perhaps heard any unsavoury insults thrown at players during yesterday's game then they can send a private message or email the club direct, as the club are quite rightly determined to get to the bottom of what has happened.
