Wonder if Hythe will play all their players who have also played for Hastings-Sam Adams, Frankie Sawyer, Jay May, Dave Cook and Kenny Pogue. Should be a good game if the fog and frost keep out of the way.

I hope they are shown some respect if they do play especially Sam Adams. Cant understand booing ex players (or current player managers).

Sam although he did a lot for Hastings in his time he let us down badly at times as well. I wont boo him though.

I would have Sam Adams back at the drop of a hat ,,,,we've missed him at times this season. I too will be very disappointed to hear any ex player booed tomorrow ... you just know they will end up making us pay for it .

A game which seemed at first rather flat gradually improved. At the end, I thought we just about deserved the three points; although I imagine that Hythe fans would disagree, since they had chances which they squandered. Bodkin and Stannard had good games, Jerome Sobers was very solid at centre back, Simon ran tirelessly and Pidgely made two excellent saves. Particularly in the first half though, we endlessly gave the ball away, allowed their number 2 far too much space and seemed incapable of putting in a decent cross. When at last we did deliver a good ball into the box we got a goal.
I was pleased to see Emptage come on at half time - he put in a good half and deserves a regular start. I wasn't unhappy to see Kieron substituted. I expected to see Jack Harris and - on the basis of his last performance - I was not enthused to see Bradley Stephenson come on. But he looked a totally different player from his last appearance - combative, not afraid to take a knock and ready to run at the Hythe defence. I assume his goal came via a deflection, but it was well struck and deserved. So, something to build upon.

Thought we were slightly fortunate to get the win today but who cares. Thought we battled really hard today without an awful lot of quality on show apart from the impressive Bodkin once again. Johnno worked tirelessly all game (my MOM) but desperately needs some help in the centre of the park, and thought Sobers looked terrific at the back. As for poor old Kiernon, the poor lad may have scored a couple of decent goals but he just looks well out of his depth and he just loses the ball so easily and constantly puts our left back under pressure.

Still not sure on our tactics and poor old Frannie, who missed an open goal in the first half, just looks to isolated Up top on his own. Also think we missed a trick with Bodkin playing down the right as poor old Dave Cook had a shocker at right back but all told, a decent solid performance. Thought Hythe looked decent, and Sammy Adams still looks a class act but my final word goes to Pidge. Many of us, including me, thought he was perhaps an over paid ex pro playing out the end of his career after a really average first half of the season but I have to say he has been absolutely magnificent over the past 6 or 7 games. Cannot remember any errors of late and has been a class act. Big week now with Faversham on Tuesday and South Park, who are on a quite incredible run on Saturda. Win the next two and I'll start believing once again.

Excellent summary, John.
Personally I thought Pidge was MotM today. I too have been VERY critical of him in the past but he was fantastic today..the one he pushed onto the post in the first half was brilliant.
The big surprise was that the game only had three goals in it...it could easily have ended five all and for that reason I agree we were fortunate to take all the points. The game could just as easily have gone their way and a high scoring draw would have been a fair reflection.
Have to agree about Kiernon......seen him about six times times now...seen him score a good few goals...but think he is a complete luxury. Frannie was winning headers and knocking them into good areas and Kieran was nowhere to be seen. He has a bit of pace but without the necessary skill and control it gets him nowhere.
As for the new lads today, I thought they did pretty damn well. Tons of committment and effort and were as significant as anyone in earning us the win.
And what a great way to win a game ..... I didn't even know who this Bradley Stephenson was before today.
And finally....it's certainly great to have the likes of Matt and Harry in the team, really hard working lads who worry the lives out of our opponents.

So all round a good day for a lifelong Wolves supporter who works with a load of Brighton fans ! LOL !

Enjoyed the match with Hythe contributing to a competitive and close game. Glad we had Jerome Sobers to combat Jay May and Ollie Rowe had a good match along side him. Stephen Butcher had an excellent first half and coped well with having to switch to left back for the second half. Some excellent saves from Lenny Pidgeley and good to see the exciting Harry Stannard in tandem with Matt Bodkin. Even though it wasn't his day, Frannie Collin was always a problem for the Hythe defence. Bradley Stephenson appeared to pick up an injury on his first run,but he still looked a terrific young player in the short time he was on the pitch. Thought Hythe played well and would love to have Sam and Jay May back with us! Despite the competitive nature of the game, it was played in a good spirit and I think there was only one booking thanks to some sensible refereeing. Despite being on the far side of the pitch to the main stand, I was able to hear a lot of enthusiastic bell ringing from perhaps our most loyal and long standing supporter, Mr Collins.

Thought Butcher was our worst player in 2nd half he was continually the wrong side of the attacker. Needs to stay at RB.

Don't think Stephen would have chosen to switch. Also, he had virtually no help in front of him. A good player.

Agree with Tim. Butch had a strange game today with his passing and crossing very average but made an incredible goal saving tackle in the first half when I think Jay May was about to tap in to an empty goal, but what chance does he have with Kiernon in front of him? Had absolutely no support or cover whilst he was on the pitch. All he did was give the ball way and moan at the ref. I just wish Hare and Watty could stand behind the goal with us and see the work he puts in and how he tracks back. Unacceptable, and if he does stay with us he really does need a huge rocket up his backside as fans will not put up with it.

Hythe's last substitute, Kieron Campbell, certainly looked a useful acquisition from Faversham. Thought the right back was also very enterprising going forward- no wonder Stephen Butcher was at full stretch in the second half. Jack Evans worked hard for us and contributed to a hard fought win.
