Yes Bert, 330 attendance on Saturday was disappointing. It felt like more; and, as far as I could see, Dorking brought very few. Let's hope for more tomorrow.
Horsham usually bring a noisy group on Saturdays and I'm sure a few will travel tonight, certainly more than Dorking.
I predict we'll see a very positive performance tonight.
Game off due to 'thick fog'. Extraordinarily frustrating as - at least when I walked down Elphistone Road - there was nothing more than a little swirling mist. Doubtless, as always, the officials had their reasons.
What a joke ! I could see both goals from just inside the gate, were a couple of thick patches of fog but we have played in far worse. Ten minutes after match being called off most of the thick patches had dissipated !
Absolutely bizarre.
I agree that the fog wasn't so bad to call the game off...but the local weather conditions were rather strange this evening.
Standing outside the PF you could see to the top of Downs Road and down to the sea...the roads were completely clear. However there was an almost surreal fog sitting on the pitch.....and only on the pitch.
Can I assume that the pitch was watered during the day which resulted in this unusual phenomenon ? I can't ever recall such pronounced 'local' weather.
Probably the last thing the club wanted with all the games in hand. Many felt that the referee's decision was a bit premature and that kick off could have been delayed. However when I left at 8.15pm it was getting worse.
The 50/50 draw was made , winning ticket was 7443 which was claimed.
