After another big victory it is now away against  Walton_Casuals_FC_Badge.png

Casuals are currently the number 10 in the table with 20 points out of 12 games.

Scored 22 and conceded 13 goals. Won from the last 6 home matches 3 and lost 3.

Last season we won away 0-1 ( medlock) and at home 2-0 ( Cole and Rowe)

Casuals play at : s408-k-no Churchroad, Whyteleafe ( like last week )

And we? After scoring 17 goals in 3 games the expectations will grow and grow. Good to see Jack Harris scoring twice Jack Harris

at the Whyteleafe game. Same ground now, same score?

Travel safe and support the team for 100%.

COYU'sssssssss

All well and good beating teams in the lower half of the division but obviously falling short against the better sides

No complaints, probably shaded first half ,but second half Walton stepped up the pace with a couple of fast forwards and scored 3 times in a 10 minute spell. Although we were down the other end and a fair distance away it did look as though Lenny could be faulted with 2 of the goals. Crowd 79 , of which at least half were our supporters.

Agree Darren, it's becoming a real problem for the club and has been for a few seasons now. We will hammer anyone in the bottom half but are just unable to take points of the teams towards the top and our away form against these same sides is pretty shocking.  You sort of know we will hammer Alylesbury and Three Bridges coming up, everyone will say how fantastic we are, and will then go and lose or draw at Faversham and Carshalton. I have said it from day 1, we need a big central defender alongside Ollie, a top striker dare I say it like Jay May, as we only have Harris and Collin that are good enough and we need Johnson and Collin fit. We do appear to have a lot of players with niggles and injuries at present.

Early days at present but do we have the quality to go on and win 10,11,12 games in a row against all opposition? Burgess Hill did it, Folkestone did it, can we?

Sorry to be the boring stato but interesting reading for all fans of our record against the top 6 teams, home and away, and top 3 over the past 2 and a bit seasons. 6 wins in 24 games tell you all you need to know and just 3 in 15 against the top 3.

2014/15

Home 1-3-2  5-7

Away  2-0-4  8-8

2015/16

Home 1-1-4  10-17

Away 2-1-3  8-12

2016/17

Away 0-0-2  3-5

Against top 3 over same period

Home 1-0-6  7-15

Away 2-0-6  7-7  (includes a 5-1 win at Faversham)

Of course, Walton are not top 6 but could probably dig deeper into top half games over same period as well and the record would be similar.

Totally agree with what has been said we just about edged the first half with an excellent goal from Harry Stannard and 2nd half we needed to up the pace a little and get an early goal, if we had done that we probably would have gone on and won the match but instead we gave away a silly free kick just outside the box and Lenny had no chance as it was a brilliant strike.
They then got 2 goals in an 11 minute spell and threatened to run riot as they were very strong and quick. The first was fired under Lennys body and the second was a shot that went through his legs! He could and should have blocked both of them. He seems to be a good goalkeeper at times but I am begining to question how mobile he really is and some of his decision making in the 6 yard box makes me worried. I know I shouldn't say it but I wonder how many people would much rather see Josh Pelling back in goal as I thought he was a good all round keeper and saved us loads of times.
Our other Problem was Alex Akrofi up front, he does a lot of running about but doesn't seem to get anywhere,he was constantly being knocked off the ball and losing the ball and wins nothing in the air, to be honest he is so frustrating and at the moment he is not up to it so sooner we get a new striker the better.
A penalty in the last minute made the scoreline look a bit more respectable but overall a very disappointing 2nd half performance.
I agree also that we seem to be able to thrash the bottom sides but struggle against the top sides, but when you think about it sides at the bottom are probably no better than County league standard but teams at the top are possibly Ryman Premier standard or better and we unfortunately at the moment seem to be stuck somewhere between the two!

Not sure I agree with that. They have won at Hythe, Lewes, beaten Greenwich and put 7 past Molesey. Think they will be up there come end of season. Point was, we struggle against the better teams in the division and very rarely hand out a good beating to those very same sides.

Agree with John and Adrian that we are not yet at the same level as Folkestone and Burgess Hill from previous seasons. Going 3 goals down to Chipstead in an earlier match was an indication that our defence is not as secure as it could be. However, we are improving as a side and we are playing some excellent football. Hope we can keep improving over the season.
Sorry Jay May has opted for Hythe-he was excellent for us earlier in the season. Alex Akrofi has played well in the games I have seen without getting the goals his workrate and effort deserved. Thought he was excellent against the 2 big Margate centre halves-never stopped running and competing for the ball.

I still think there is a problem with players playing out of position. Is Alex better wide from what i have seen he is. Frannie is a striker not a 10. Cole is not a full back. Davies what is his position. And is Lenny a goalkeeper far too many errors. Like john i believe we need a centre half, also a full back to allow Cole to move into midfield. And a striker who scores consistently.
