We are certainly entering an important part of the season with a number of tricky fixtures ahead. Hopefully we will continue to do well but I think we are still developing as a side and I think we will we do well to remain unbeaten over the next few matches. There seems to be some strong sides in the league again which will make it difficult to gain promotion. However, I do think Darren Hare and his coaching staff are doing a good job and I hope Hastings United are prepared to support them over the next few seasons regardless of whether we gain promotion this year. We need to have the patience and belief in a management team to give them the confidence to plan a good long term future for Hastings. From what I have seen Darren and co are worth supporting for the long term. Keep up the good work.

My biggest worry is that we are already playing catch up and the lack of home games may take its toll eventually .  If we are still near the play off positions by the time we play our next home game then I will be happy . Potentially though we could be 20 points off the top place by then . We can do it but it's already a big ask .   Time will tell and Saturdays away game v Mr Medlock and Dorking will be the first of a few tough games. Good luck anyway !

Yea the Cup is a bit special but comes at the expense of the bread and butter football. The Middlesbrough season saw United rack up a big backlog of league games which proved too much and relegation resulted.

Last season we had 6 and 7 games in hand at one stage and we didnt even make the play offs. And while I agree that Darren Hare & Co look a class act, here we go again. At this early stage of the season already 9 points adrift and catch up looming once more! Not good.

I think we have to be going to Dorking and Greenwich and winning or at least taking four points from the two. That is a tough ask but looking at the league this year it appears already to be splitting into two divisions with the bottom 11 or 12 barely able to take a point of the top 10 and some big defeats in there as well. This years winners or play off qualifiers will be those that can beat the top teams, something we have struggled at in past seasons, particularly at home. Windy is right in saying that if we lose to both teams sandwiched in between all the cup games, there is every possibility that by the Guernsey home game mid October we could be nearly 20 points behind the top. Confident this wont happen, although still very worried about a central partner for Ollie Rowe which I believe is all we have missing..

Like others I think Darren and his team have done a great job and lets not forget its a brand new team with the old spine of Pelling, Ray, Adams and Medlock ripped out. Certainly exciting times ahead and I have no doubt that if we go the next month unbeaten it is likely to be a pretty incredible season.

On a different subject I see that Walton Casuals, probably the surprise package so far this season, had 39 people watch their 7 nil drubbing of Molesey last night. How do they survive on that?

Great reading on Lewes forum this morning after last nights defeat at home to South Park. Exactly where we have been over the 2-3 years and have no wish to return to those dark days. Really hope they pull out of it as they are a well supported club and have had some great days over there. Lewes average nearly 400 this season and Walton Casuals 44. Makes no sense.

Think Jerome has played well this season and Richard Davies looked good at centre half- but we haven't played anyone at the top yet.

Not quite 20 points but say we win tomorrow ?... another cup match Saturday ... poss replay the following Tuesday ..... then two away league games before the next FA Trophy game on 29/10 ...so could be looking at November before we are next at home in the league  ...then again lose tomorrow and it's our old mates Guernsey on Saturday in the league .... incredible ..I cannot remember an early season scenario like this. interesting month coming up I think .
