After a good display but rewarded with only 1 point against Sittingbourne, we have another League game at The Pilot Field against Godalmingtownfc.png

The newcomers in the league from Surrey are currently the number 23 in the table with 1 point out of 5 games.

The point was taken away at Three Bridges. Although the G's lost 4 games it was never a walk over and it seems they

play some decent football. Lost in the Fa Cup against Staines 4-0 and last Tuesday away against nr. 3 in the table Dorking with 0-2.

And we? Surely 1 point against Sittingbourne was not  we hoped for and although we are still unbeaten in the League after 5 games we need 3 point against Godalming to stay in the top of the table.

So show your support, go to the Pilot Field and support the team for 100%.

Up to 5th now and unbeaten. Good result against a poor side but more injury worries with Sam Cole and Simon substituted at half time. Onward to Barton.

Really good performance from the team today and totally dominated a very average team for the full 90mins. Looked like it could be similar to the Sittingbourne game on Tuesday but 2nd half we stepped up another gear and deservedly won comfortably in the end, with at times, some scintillating build up play. Thought Crutts was the best player on the pitch today with Bodkin not far behind. Thought the two new lads looked decent on their debuts and they will only get better once they bed in. Only concern was more injury concerns with both Cole and Johnno hobbling off at half time.

Up to 5th now and what a great start from Darren and his team. I think any supporter would have taken the first 8 games unbeaten but now real test comes with a crucial FA Cup game next Saturday followed by Faversham, Dorking and Greenwich.

ps....oh to be a Lewes fan! and we thought our forum was badbiggrin

Didn't think we ever quite reached the standard of creative play that we managed on Tuesday but were still far, far too good for a distinctly poor Godalming side.
Frustrating first hour where we seemed to want to create 'the perfect goal' rather than anyone taking resposnsibility to 'pull the trigger' once we got in range. Inevitably once we got one we were always likely to get more. Seemed to go off the boill after the second but still managed to get one more, rather against the run of play at the time.
Hope Sam and Simon are OK.....Simon's looked like a knock so he should make a quick recovery. Anyone know anything more about Sam ?
Thought Frannie Collin had a decent game, particularly first half, and I'm really liking the look of the Rowe/Davies combination in the heart of the defence. Matt Bodkin and Harry Stannard also looked very handy today and were rewarded with good goals.
And finally.......how could Crutts NOT be MotM ? His distribution was outstanding and played half a dozen 'killer passes' today...though admittedly he was given far more time than on Tuesday.
So ultimately a very comfortable win, but we won't be playing many poorer teams than our opponents today.

Have enjoyed watching Hastings this season-although the 3 teams I have seen, Cray Valley, East Grinstead and Godalming haven't been too challenging. Richard Davies did look good at centre half alongside Ollie Rowe and we played with a lot of energy. Hope we keep on improving but so far it has been a very encouraging season.

The new lads looked good and it's just there 1st game. The performance was outstanding yesterday looks a lot sharper and passed the ball on the floor instead of pumping it out all the time. So over all im well pleased how we played dominated parts of the game. If we play like that all season we will out play a lot of teams.

Sam has a calf strain and I hope he is fit for next Saturday as he gives us an extra dimension on the left plus goals. I hope Simon also recovers as he is also important to us in the middle.
