Game ended 2-2. Uckfield lead 1-0 at half time , Sam Cole equalised from a free kick early in the second half and then we took the lead when Sam Cruttwell hit a screamer from all of 35 yards. Victory was denied when Uckfield scored an equaliser about 5 minutes from the end . Our keeper was Ryan Nicholls from Chatham.
Long term supporters may remember some of the Uckfield team, Matt McLean ,Terry Paine , Shaun Loft and Anthory Storey and managed by Cliff Cant. Crowd about 30.

Other first teamers were Simon Johnson, Bright Temba and Jerome Smith. Bright went off early with an injury. There were also seven or eight development squad and a couple of 'who is he ?'.
Both Uckfield goals should have been avoided ,if it had been a league game Darren would probably would have been pulling his hair out, although I doubt of any of the back four will start the season. Midfield looked OK , and Sam Cruttwells goal was a cracker. We were missing the Kent players up front as they were training in Maidstone.
Overall a useful run out and no doubt Darren learnt a few things.
