thought today was a large improvement from last Wednesday against brighton. i thought that matt bodkin looked very good as so did Temba in the second half when he came on. It was good to see olie rowe back as without razor now, hope he can step up and lead the team as razor has done for the last few seasons. But i still do not think that we have quality in our depth of our squad, I'm not saying we need to be spending stupid money on player who will be sub every week but we need something better then youth there.
Lost 1-0 in front of a crowd of 255. Thought it was an entertaining game and we more than matched Borough who I understand played most of their first team. Looked really impressive going forward and on another day could have scored 3 or 4. Their keeper was the busier of the two. Our keeper was Toby Smith from Gillingham who could probably be faulted for the only goal seemingly losing sight of the ball in the setting sun.
Still having trouble with the left back position, starting with Chris Cumming Bart before giving way to Jerome Smith, but overall very positive.
Thanks for the posts John and Phil . That must have been hot out there tonight . I couldn't even bring myself to watch ... The seafront and the pier was calling louder for me
Genuinely a really good performance imo, probably had more chances than a Conference South teams first choice line up and no major problems in defence either. Disciplined and good workrate and desire to win ball back throughout. Many subs as usual but to be expected. Actually quite impressed today.
I thought it was a good performance and the way we played the ball around was a vast improvement on the last 2 years. Not too concerned now a goalkeeper is required urgently.
Good football played tonight and if this improvement keeps up I can foresee selection headaches for the management team. Have we got Lenny Pidgeley, I heard he was going to play but has a family illness to contend with. If that is true I hope all turns out for the best.
