The Club's Board of Directors regret to report that, following two incidents that occurred during this afternoon's Division One South fixture away to Faversham Town, it has taken the decision to ban four individuals from attending all Hastings United matches in future, this ban to become effective immediately.

Officials from Faversham Town drew the Club's Directors' attention to the fact that toilets at the Salters Lane ground had been vandalised, while flares were later thrown onto the pitch while the game was in progress.

The individuals responsible were identified both by home Officials and by Hastings United supporters in attendance and were subsequently ejected from the ground. The Club would like to extend apologies to everyone at Faversham Town for these incidents and to thank them for their co-operation and understanding in dealing with matters.

As a club, Hastings United is committed to ensuring that its supporters behave in an appropriate manner at all times, be that at the Pilot Field, or when away from home, and situations such as those that took place this afternoon will not be tolerated.

This is the only way to deal with this.

Not often you'd hear me say this, but let the club deal with this, lets not comment on events it could only help fuel the fire, and this is more serious than football alone.

Chris,
While I of course agree that this is for the club to deal with (what other alternative could there possibly be ?), I don't think it's unreasonable for ordinary supporters to use this medium to condemn the behaviour of the yobs who have sullied the reputation of the club.
Criticism by your peers is often rather more sobering than criticism by those in authority.
I hope those responsible are taking a little time to reflect on their actions this morning.

Dead right Mick. I also like to think that sensibly minded people at Faversham - and that will be the vast majority of them, of course - won't tar all of us with the same brush after an incident like this. I came across a group of half wits supporting Hythe the other night, sadly we have a few too. Faversham will have seen yesterday that United supporters and officials were as brassed off as anyone about what went on.

Not to say Chris doesn't have a valid point of his own.
