Well so far this season up to and including the Tooting game we have managed to collect 6 Red Cards & 64 Yellows.
Jack Walder has 3 Reds, Sam Cole 2 and Ollie Rowe 1.
However top of the Yellow card count goes to Billy Medlock who has collected 11 closely followed by Sam Cole with 9 and Jack Walder with 6 with Sam Adams & Tom Vickers both receiving 5 each.
But congratulations must go to the outstanding Simon Johnson who is the only regular first team player who has not received a single Yellow or Red card playing for us all season!
I think it shows what a good player Simon is because he gets through as many tackles as anyone else on the pitch. Think he has been a real asset this season and, along with Razor, one of the most consistent.
I would like to know what they were for as there are some that are team cards, ie ones that are preventing potential goal threats, ones for foul play which naturally occur during a game. And the acts of stupidity like most of Billys and Walders.
Yellow card stats are pretty meaningless these days seeing how daft some of them are. Cards should be held back for offences that warrant them but they are waved for the most minor transgressions. Medlock and Cole might have 20 between them but are they dirty players? Of course not.
Where players do irritate are brainless 2nd yellows! But other than that - they generally have my support as do, to an extent, referees who have to enforce petty, needless regulations dreamt up by desk jockies. Like sending players off for deliberate handball.
As long as they haven't picked up 5 since the slate was wiped clean so to speak then no. There's always an "amnesty" each season, a bit like in the World Cup that once the group stages have concluded then bookings start again in the knock out stages.
But congratulations must go to the outstanding Simon Johnson who is the only regular first team player who has not received a single Yellow or Red card playing for us all season!
What was we saying about Simon Johnson ? 😏
Does anyone know how many games each will be banned for ?
Are we sure it's one each ? certain Twitter feeds were bantering 5 games for Billy . I was a bit surprised when I read that last night . Wasn't it his first red ? He probably should have had one against Corinthuan Casuals home game but he didn't , So is it one or more ? Whatever we will miss him so time for Tyrell to step in and help us go up , like he kept us up last season . He needs to be rewarded for being a patient bench warmer
I have all faith in Tyrell and jack Walder should be back in 2 games i believe ? So no reason couldn't push Sammy Adams up as when everyone available we have a big midfield now
No it's a one game ban, Johnnos yellows last night as rightly said were his first cards of the season and likewise for Billy's red which will result in a one game ban.
It's normally two weeks after the offence, with it being a Thursday the offences took place I'm not sure how that would stand but assume it would be the game closest to the Thursday two weeks after which would make it a Saturday but don't quote me on that. I'll try and get it confirmed.
Simon Johnson will receive a One match ban for getting 2 yellows(1 Red) and the same will be for Billy Medlock, but as Medlock has now accumulated 15 yellows for the season so far he may get an extra 1 game ban for getting a further 5 yellows as well since the last time.
Sean Ray has also now collected 7 yellows for the season and Sam Cole 11 yellows so they may well both be up for a 1 match ban soon also!
All Good players Just when we needed them most!
I think you'll find Adrian that the two yellows escalate to a red and will not be counted towards his tally of yellows, both players will miss the South Park game.
OK Thanks for that Lenny, so I assume that Medlocks Yellow card tally has gone back to 13, as the other 2 yellows equated to 1 Red.
So if he gets 2 more yellows will that mean he will have another 1 match ban?
I see from the Observer that Sam Cole is banned for 2 Games!
