Thanks Liam sound good then hope for a better performance than last saturday and worth going. only be there once and thought it was a run down dump of ground with athletics track but maybe they have done it up a bit
Have to say, Peter R's assessment of our ground is about right.
(Walton fan here, lived in St Leonards for 30+ years but you never lose the love for your first team)
There is a main (seated) stand centred on one side with some (standing) banking either side. The terraced stand on the other side was boarded up about two years ago by the landlord (local Council) on dubious and unspecified safety grounds. Yes, there is a running track and so behind the goals is way back and no one ever watches from there. So if you want to watch your football standing I'd wrap up warm as you'll be in the open.
The food offering is... I don't want to cause offence here... limited, so if you need some lunch and have time I'd turn left along the main road (Hersham Road) to stroll the quarter mile to the town centre to find more choices.
Don't yet know if I'll be there and obviously I can't wish you luck. But as we have only one win in 16 (and that against Peacehaven) I don't think you'll need it. Our autocratic Chairman sacked a popular manager when we were comfortably mid-table and now we suffer the consequences, and I see that only three of the 16 named against you back in October are still with us. Our fans are decidedly not happy, with relegation looming to a lower division than any we've been in in the 50 years I've been supporting the Swans.
Should be a doddle for you.

hi Stompond hope i did not offend. i just say it as i see it and grounds with running tracks stick in my mind but i suppose some people can say same things about pilot field but we are lot closer to action than at yours. form table does not look good for your lot but we can blow hot and cold so depend what Hastings side turns up to see if it is a doddle or not. hope things improve for you after tomorrow lol
Hi Stompond. I actually really like your ground. This will be the fourth time I've been and its one of my favourites in our league, along with Folkestone and I quite like Hythe. You also mentioned that getting a result shouldn't be too much trouble for us, however, we are a Jekyll and Hyde side. We've got from beating Crawley Town in the Sussex Cup and then last week lost to Three Bridges. We also beat Guernsey 2-0 a couple of weeks ago in our best performance of the season, so we'll take nothing for granted. We are also without our top scorer who is banned as he's received too many yellows.
Thanks for your words on the local area too. Thankfully I have family who live in Walton, so this time we're making an occasion of it and going for dinner too. See you tomorrow.
Yesterday again summed up our season, we won against very poor opposition, we were in control yet after an hour were level due to our frailties at both ends of the field. We don't seem to be improving, yes we will probably scrape into play offs but on the back of others weakness not our strength. Pitch was poor but better than Whitstable, but this will be the norm in the run in with so many away games. Anyway at least we won and hopefully Hythe on Tuesday will see us avoid defeat
I will be happy with a point on Tuesday ...Frankie and Jack Harris will be right pumped up for this one ... Both have been scoring of late with Jack getting on the score sheet early for the only goal of their game v Carshalton ... Not easy that's for sure ...mind you we seem to be making most games harder than they should be
Dan, reckon we had about 40 there yesterday. Agree with Chris , Walton were poor. They have used 61 players this season and had a totally different team from the one that played at the Pilot Field. However it was an entertaining game ,with my man of the match being Sam Cruttwell followed by Simon Johnson.
Will be difficult on Tuesday with Razor apparently unavailable ,Billy suspended (he was on holiday yesterday) and Sam Cole picking up an injury.
Agree with ChrisB. Walton were poor, we were in control. We should never have let them back in to the game, despite Harry Girling being able to do nothing to prevent the two goals. Walton were poor, and we were in control for most of the game. It was less convincing than it should've been. Think we might miss Billy Medlock on Tuesday, but it's conviction I think we lack, even though we got four goals yesterday..
Hythe will be a good test for Hastings on Tuesday. Looks like they have won their last 6 matches with wins over Folkestone, Worthing and Dorking included. Interesting to see how we get on.
sounds like we did just enough to get points which is most imprtant thing. woke up saturday morning feeling rough so missed what look a really good goal by crutwell. think he been one of our best players this season. tomorrow look like a really hard game for us expecially as we have no medlock and look like cole got injure on saturday. was razor injured on saturday to only be on bench? look like we playing hythe at a bad time for us but hope we can dent there very good home record and good run.
