The following club statement will be posted on the main website as soon as possible.
As advised in the club's statement of yesterday the club have today contacted the FA on the subject of any refund policy for abandoned matches under cup competitions administered by the FA. The FA have advised that refunds on admission cost can only be made if the two clubs who competed in the abandoned match both agree to provide some form of admission cost refund.
In the case of the club's match against Merthyr Town which was abandoned last Saturday no mutual agreement has been agreed between the clubs to provide an admission cost refund.
Having said the above as the club advised both via the public address last Saturday and in yesterday's statement, supporters were requested to retain their admission ticket. The club are aware by its ticket numbering system what admission tickets were distributed for admission to last Saturday's match and although it cannot offer under FA rules any sort of admission refund when the rearranged match against Merthyr Town takes place at the Pilot Field it will grant a one off deduction of 50% in admission price for any home Ryman League match for the rest of this season subject to a valid admission ticket for last Saturday's abandoned match against Merthyr Town being shown at the Pilot Field turnstiles.
The club are disappointed that it has received criticism over the weekend on the subject of admission refunds before the club had been given the chance to investigate on the subject especially as the club's website made it quite clear that it needed to liaise with the FA today which it has now done the result of which is explained above.
The club can confirm that the rearranged FA Trophy tie against Merthyr Town will take place at the Pilot Field on Tuesday 17th November at 7.45pm pitch conditions permitting. The club know that people will say why not arrange for when the advanced weather forecast is good but it is not as simple as that as there are match matters to consider not least of which is giving Merthyr Town the chance to organise player availability and travel arrangements and of course the FA require the match to be played in the shortest timescale that is considered possible.
"It will grant a one off deduction of 50% in admission price for any home
Ryman League match for the rest of this season subject to a valid admission ticket for last
Saturday's abandoned match against Merthyr Town being shown at the Pilot Field turnstiles".
What happens to supporters who are Season Ticket Holders?
I think that's a fair compromise response in general and shows that the problem regarding refunds or a discount for the game didn't lie with Hastings but elsewhere.
Impossible to please all people who were there of course ( Fans who may have come as a neutral etc and dont watch game regularly etc ) but at least the loyal fans will get their discount off a league game. ( assuming the ST holders issue gets clarified which i'm sure it will )

Adrian, Season tickets wouldn't of been valid for Saturday's cup game or in fact any cup game at all so a ticket would have had to be bought , however I fully understand the issue you have raised and without making any promises on any possible outcome I will discuss with the board the matter you have raised.
I think that is a fair deal as i cant make the game tomorrow. the statement says club is disappointed with supporters which is a bit of a nerve. i disappointyed with club that it criticise it supporters as someone say without them the club is nothing. on the club facebook page it said that the ticket from saturday can be use to get into rearrange game which was no good to me as cant do rearrange game if tomorrow but that story change. see that comment not on facebook now but maybe if club had been clearer from start it get less criticism than making it up as it goes a long
but as said i think the outcome is sensible and fair. i remember a few year ago an abandon game in second half and we was let in free for rearrange game and there was collection for hospice and that was very generous of club then. i think we won that rearrange game quite easy so hope the same tomorrow
Peter with all due respect the club had to check the FA competitions rules, which wasn't possible until this morning. That was clearly stated on the statement. The situation with Walton & Hersham a couple of seasons ago was totally different, that fixture was a Ryman League fixture and was subject to Ryman league rules. The two competions have separate rules.
I had other plans for tomorrow evening (I was prepared to miss the original scheduled league cup game); but I will go tomorrow come rain and storm and be ready to pay my entrance money because this is a worthwhile competition and it really isn't anyone's fault that what should have been a great fixture on Saturday has become rather problematic. I can understand Merthyr not wanting to compromise on the admission fee; but it would have been helpful had they done otherwise. Certainly we should feel no 'guilt' if our team do what they are capable of doing and produce an utterly different performance tomorrow to put us into the next round (with a useful financial reward from the FA). Let's hope as many of us as can will turn up and urge the players on.
Hopefully game will go ahead and we win, game may be a farce if predicted wind speed is correct. I will be there too unless police advise against travel unless essential.
if its a farce cos of wind would ref abandon it? if wind make it dangerous and warning issued for falling tree and damage to building ref might abandon it as well as people said after saturday that ref need to consider player safety i think its the same? then again after last night rain and more this afternoon i guess pitch is under water anyway
Tonights match is going to be a difficult call for the clubs and officials in view of the impending heavy rain and storm.Rain due from lunch time for a few hours followed by strong to gale force winds for the rest of the day.Do we trust the forecast and advise Merthyr not to travel,or do we try and get it played for it to be abandoned again due to safety concerns? Will we again pay our admission fee for nothing? Hope we get it right this time for all concerned
There are currently small areas of standing water on the pitch so an inspection is needed later today. Please keep an eye on the main website, Twitter and other social media for further news.

Peter with all due respect, nothing like that was written on the Facebook page. Three people run the Facebook page, myself included and we are always very careful with the information we give out. More often than not, we will always wait for a Club statement to be released and then we will put that on the Facebook page. What was written on there is that Supporter's should keep hold of their tickets - this was also told to people at the ground when the game was announced as being abandoned. I spent at least half of the first half checking the Club charter to assess the refund policy but it was an FA matter. Supporters were told to hang on to their tickets as we know from the numbering system on the tickets who was in attendance at the game. Nothing on the Facebook page said that the ticket would grant access to the rescheduled fixture. Hope this clears it up.
Liam i I know what i read on facebook and it said that the ticket could be used for rearrange game but it history now and i am happy with the deal of 50% off a league game as that is fair

Lenny Any News on the outcome of this as I think you were going to discuss with the board the possibility of a £5 reduction on next years season ticket to compensate.
When I spoke to you at the pilot field you said that you would have an answer sometime in December, but we don't seem to have heard anything!
Adrian my sincere apologies, I did indeed say I'd raise the issue at the next board meeting. Unfortunately through nobody else's fault other than mine I regret to say that I forgot to bring the issue up. I will make a note of it now and bring it up at our next board meeting later in the month.
I would say though giving how late we are in the seen that there may not be an announcement until next seasons ticket prices are announced however the issue will be taken into consideration When next seasons season ticket prices are discussed.
Once again my sincere apologies for my forgetfulness.
