After another convincing win we will have to play against bottom of the table Chipstead.jpg

The team from Chipstead is currently the number last in the table: 17 games played; 1 win, 2 draws so only 5 points.

The only win they got was against 10 men Walton & Hersham.

Last season we lost both games; at home 0-1 and away 1-2 ( goal Hassan ).

Chipstead plays at : 12080177_10152996062521899_452103382325989120_o.jpg  Chipstead Football Club

Ground: High Road
Address: Chipstead, CR5 3SF

And we ? After another win on Tuesday against a poor Sittingbourne you may say we are in a flow. These games must be 3 points and maybe more important that we score more goals. We create enough but goal difference could be important at the end of the season.

So hopefully a lot of supporters will make the trip and will watch a Hastings side who is up for their 5th consecutive win; have all a safe journey!

The captain of the club has to be changed in my eyes he is a liability he should be the man to calm the situation and motivate the players, no one knows what your going to get with jack walder yes it was a foul against him today but why elbow the player in the back of the head plain ****ing stupid

Good result but shame about the end of the game and sendings off. Hastings deserved the win but I hope the price isn't too high with suspensions and injuries.

Made heavy weather of this win, should have had it sewn up by half time, although Chipstead are a better side than their league position suggests. As for the last 5 minutes never seen anything like it ,large melee , their keeper running 100 metres faster than Usain Bolt. Both Walder and their player had to go, and if not for Zac Attwood and others ushering him away Walder was about to have an altercation with one of their supporters.
Agree with steviesteve, not the behaviour of the team captain

I agree with steviesteve too. Shameful behaviour again from the captain and Imo he should be stripped of his position. Razor is the one for me without a doubt

The fact that neither razor or Sam Adams are club captain is baffling to me. Luckily Ollie and jerome have been playing well so jack won't be missed much at the back. The last 10 minutes of the game really put a damper on it. We probably just look at the positives, it's our 5th win in a row and we showed the ability to grind out a result which will almost certainly come in handy later on in the season. Hopefully the next round will be a home game!

Just curious here ...Zac wasn't in the squad was he ? Was he just on the bench as a non player then ?

No John, Zac not in squad, he was sitting in front row of the stand next to changing rooms with a couple of other players and when it all kicked off ( if you pardon the pun ) they ushered Walder inside the changing rooms.

Windy you are right that was one of Attwoods best performance of season give him a steward jacket. discipline has been so bad this season and how many red cards have we had already? could come back and make life difficult and awful that the club captain show no responsibility for his team mate, club and supporters. if walder did that in the street then he would spend night in a prison cell. yes there was provocation but two wrong dont make it right. people say ref lost control but pretty much every player lost control in the incident and it is embarasing. agree the captain armband should be given to razor, adams or pells. on a good run at the moment and football has improved although the teams we play lately have been poor but Chipstead have improved from first game. we risk this if our discipline dont improve on pitch and also off pitch. a couple of weeks ago heard rumour so dont know if true that 1 player turned up hungover for a saturday game which if true is shocking.
football yesterday again show we have improve although at end Chipstead could have got equaliser. we still need to improve our finishing but overall think we just about deserve to win and hope for home draw in next round

All useful wins as far as prize money goes-£5,200 so far from our 2 FA trophy wins.

That's a bit harsh ... That's exactly the sort of comment that players wouldnt want to see . Knowing Zac there would be no one more frustrated than him not being fit to play . It's almost like some  people on here expect players to try to play even though injured . If he's getting paid for being injured ,, is that his fault ?

I hate to blame things but I think the pitch played a big part in yesterday's result. Very difficult to play on a pitch similar to a school football field. Where there was grass it was longer than average and the pitch was sodden. Chipstesd were poor and we definitely should've had the game sewn up by half time.
It's evident to see that Garry has got the team playing passing football, which was too difficult for us yesterday as we struggled to put away our relentless chances.
The more the hosts defence got rattled, the more squabbling was done by their defence and captain. Good for us to get in the score sheet before half time, yet another from a set piece.
I think the less said about the end of the game the better. Referee totally lost control of the game and incidentally sent off a player from each time. Captain Jack Walder sent off for us for a second time - a five game bam follows in due course, just hope this doesn't come back to bite us in the backside!

30 yellows and 4 reds doesn't look good - but surely a look round other clubs will find similar stats? Cards are waved for the most minor infractions these days, reds are so common that playing 10 men is nothing like the advantage it was. I didn't see yesterday's fracas - work interfered yet again - but there does, it has to be said, appear to be a red mist problem with Walder and giving him the captaincy doesn't seem to have solved it. Razor has to be the skipper.

Remember Duncan Macarthur? So talented yet he was another one who had that red mist syndrome.

Re yellow cards - what bugs me is the brainless 2nd yellow after being booked for something pretty innocuous - the player knows the referee's card happy, he's been warned - and then he goes and does something daft and gets a 2nd yellow - DAFT!

I know what you mean Simon but I have seen both of Sam Cole's sending offs and both times one of the cards was unwarranted and I certainly don't blame Sam for either of them. There are some referees who don't have a clue how to enforce discipline without waving a card. The previous two referees we have had were an example to many of their colleagues. They both spoke to players and their captains and only resorted to cards as a last resort. More like them please.
I am not condoning what went on yesterday but a supporter of Chipstead, who was near the incident, blamed their player and said Jack was defending himself as the guy was on top of him and stopping Jack from getting to his feet. Still agree that Razor should be club captain.

OK Windy yes in hindsight a bit harsh. Of course not Zac fault that he is injury prone. as i say at start of season never ben a favourite of mine as never think he works hard enough for team and dont understand why a fuss is made about him. have to question why he was signed in the first place. must be cost the club lot of money if he getting paid.

Whether he works hard or not ...and if he's worth the money the club has chosen to pay ...nothing can deny the fact that Zac has been very unlucky with injuries . I can clearly remember the pain he and his family went through 3 years ago when he missed out at playing for us v Middlesbrough , especially after his great goal v Bishop Stortford to help us through in the First Round proper !!   Life can be cruel in this sport and sometimes the injury prone need extra support rather than criticism ! When one gets injured playing a sport you so dearly love playing I can assure you it is one of life's most frustrating things not being able to play .No matter what age you are or how much a club has decided to pay you !! Just my thought ... For what it's worth !

Always remember Zac's bit of class getting us that penalty against Harrogate. Hope he gets fit quickly.

Windy i dont know if he is on a contrract but Ithink i hear he is and that makes it poor decision to employ someone that is injury prone on a contract. it is a shame and frustrating for zac i agree but i think the money he takes could havve been better use for a player that is less injury prone. yes he score important goals before but that is history and he show no loyalty when he left probably for more money so to offer an injury prone player a lot of money and possibly contract is bad management despite what a nice guy he is and history.

That's a slightly weird comment to make ... United were going down and Zac felt the need to better his chances by playing for a better positioned club ... Surely anyone would do the same wouldn't they ? More money and a better level of football ,,, I don't see how that questions his loyalty !  I call they ambition .. But as I said ... Just my opinion .. For what it's worth !

other side of that arguement windy is being part of relegated side to stick it out and get side back promotion again following season rather than walking away, as you say its opinions and good debate it with you!

Hear what you say, Steve. I wasn't particularly referring to anyone re my comments about brainless 2nd yellow cards - just in case you thought I was.

Sam Cole got a straight red for his 1st sending off and it was fully warranted. But I didn't go yesterday and so cant comment on Walder, but knowing his history and what some Lewes fans said he is a red card waiting to happen. At some point both he and cole will end up with 6 game bans because of their behaviour. Do we want our promotion chances to be ruined by poor discipline.
On Zac he played a massive part in our cup run, but his lack of trying in league games meant he played a part in our relegation. Hope he is fit soon as he owes Hastings a lot.

I can see what you are saying Chris but maybe my memory is a bit vague but I seem to remember Zac carrying a knock for the rest of that fated 2012-13 season. Maybe that is the reason why he didn't perform as best as he would have wanted .

Yes he may have been seen as greedy but it happens in all standards of football. Look at Scott Sinclair ! Only just got his game back on track with Villa. But will he stay there if they go down ? (sorry JohnW -I did say if biggrin).

I spoke to Zac yesterday and he seems to think he will be fit again very soon. So I for one would love to see him get back to full fitness and back to the level that he was at with Maidstone for a period.

With the suspensions coming up for certain players we will need as many fit players as possible to get through this busy period that is coming up and I for one reckon he still has a lot to offer .
