After another good performance and a good win against Worthing we play home again against
Walton are currently the number 16th in the table with 20 points out of 15 games.
They lost last Tuesday ( yesterday ) at home against bottom club Chipstead 0-1 who recorded their first win.
They scored in the 6th minute and home defender Ogun was already sent off in the 3th minute!
Last season we lost at home 1-2 ( goal Archibald ) and drew away on the last game of the season 2-2. ( goals Richardson-Brown and Brinkhurst )
Think it will be a very important game after the the latest good run we had. With games in hand we must win this game and we will climb in the table. Sam Cruttwell is doing well in midfield and Josh Pelling pulls out save after save.
So hopefully a lot of you will visit TPF and support the team !

Another three points from an entertaining 90 mins at the Pilot Field. Walton defended well in the first half but I felt we were the better side. Second half saw Tyrell's pace bring the first goal and the finish with the outside of his boot was well executed. His second is a contender for goal of the season with an excellent finish to a brilliant cross. Another good team performance from the Us with stand out performances all over the field. My man of the match was Tyrell but I wouldn't argue if others gave any of 10 other names.
Well done to all for another three points and a good game of football.
P.S. I thought the ref had a good game, more like that please.
Agree with much of that Steve; but I thought we were in danger of losing our way in the last 20 minutes of the first half when Walton could very easily have scored against the run of play. We only really picked up in the second half after Tyrell's first goal. Well executed indeed; but would some refs have blown for Medlock being clearly offside (and flagged)? (Certainly true that the performance from the officials today was assured and competent.)
Tyrell's second goal was superb - great skill to hit a volley so surely. I was surprised that Sam Cruttwell was substituted - I thought he had had another excellent game. But indeed there were many contenders for Man of the Match today and no weak performances over the 90 minutes.
I thought billy made an initial move towards the ball before he realised he was off and stopped. Linesman rightly flagged, and defence stopped, only for ref to overrule . They say play to the whistle, but I would have been aggrieved . Having said that, goal was well taken. The second was even better. Great ball from Ollie , very controlled finish.

I fully agree with 90% of what your wrote Geoff the bit I disagree on is about Sam Cruttwell people who know me know I'm a massive fan of his and he is an outstanding centre midfield player and for his age a very switched on one at that. But today too me he just looked bored and not interested he didn't run around as much as he usally does and was walking around at times just not looking interested it looked like he wasn't feeling 100% as I hope it's that as I feel he's a massive pls for Hastings and a future captain

Couldn't get to the game on Saturday .. Funny enough I always learn more when we lose than when we win ,on this forum ...as usual always remarkably quiet after a win
Think Windy it was the game itself as I thought W&H were as bad as chipstead, and you couldn't come to any conclusions from the game. From our point of view it was a case of job done.
You know what John, I pretty much agree with Chris. I always like to write an honest assessment after the game but there wasn't a lot to say really. I cant really agree with Steve, who said it was an entertaining 90 minutes and there were stand out performances all over the field. I thought defensively we were excellent and Walder definitely looks better at the back than he does in midfield. Good to have Razor back and Ollie Rowe, for me, has been signing of the season. I thought Tyrell did great up front and has defiantly earned a run of games along side Medlock who's work rate was top notch but still playing a little deep for my liking. But midfield worries me still. Not sure Chris Cumming Bart is good enough, but ill reserve judgement until I see a bit more of him. Just gave the ball away too many times on Saturday. Young Crutts was okay but too many long balls for me whilst Sam Adams looks out of form at the moment and has been average for a while now which is really unlike him. And poor old Max is just not good enough i'm afraid. Like the new lad Johnson and a fit Vickers alongside him should work well.
W&H were rubbish, lets be honest, and for a lot of the first half they looked as good as us. Second half we dominated without ever making a stack of chances. The stats saying we only had 5 shots on target and lets not forget the Harris howler from 5 yards. I think the performances are improving slowly and the long ball is not quite as evident as it was and we are now on a nice run. No one at the top is pulling away and I see no reason whatsoever as to why we cannot win our next 8 games in all competitions. That will be some feat but if we do confidence will be sky high and we should be breathing down the neck of Folkestone.
Agree with Chris on that point.Thought they were as poor as you will get in this division. They really were there for the taking and the scoreline should have been higher. For all our dominance we didn't trouble their keeper enough. At the end of the day,a win is what we got and hopefully we can gain another tomorrow night but I reckon we will need to up our game a notch to achieve it.
didnt comment on game straight after cos yes great to have 3 points but in all honesty anything less would be disaster as W&H offered nothing. Dont think any of our players were on top of there game but probably was the best i have seen Tyrell and 2 good finishes although i thought we were lucky that we got away with the offside. think him and Medlock up front must be starting combination. Harris looks like he could not hit a barn door, that miss was incredible and Attwood I guess is injured as usual but quite happy getting paid something dont change. defence looked good, as John said midfield need work on it but biggest positive is we are playing more football than the hoof it down pitch.
tomorrow should be another easy 3 points with the players we have and hope Mick not getting to excited by football webpage site which thinks we will not lose another game this season!
Just a comment on John's remark about Sam Cruttwell hitting 'too many long balls'. Too my mind it is a positive feature of his game that Sam can hit a quick long diagonal ball out to our wide players. He did that a few times on Saturday and I saw it as positive and attractive to watch. I suspect, at least among those who contribute to this forum, that I am in a minority; but not all long balls are 'bad' and not all short ball football is 'good'. Of course, the long ball up the middle of the park to no-one in particular is ineffective and dire to watch; but so, I would say, is a poorly executed short passing game that gets nowhere. Indeed, although great finishes were required, I think long balls led to both Tyrell's excellent and attractive goals ......

I agree with Geoff, Sam's passes out wide have been giving us an extra dimension. Roll on tomorrow and I hope we keep the same team and get three more points.
Naughty boy Mick, you should know by now the golden rules of this forum. Never make a joke or have a laugh about anything, stop taking football web pages so seriously, its not real.....so I've been told, and never make a derogatory remark about long ball football, its very exciting and should be taught to all, as long as it goes diagonal.... sorry Geoff, ill buy you a tea tonight.
