A wins a win whatever the performance :) Didn't go but sounds like our Centrebacks are our most likely scorers at the mo. 4 out of 5 goals this weekend from them at set pieces!
Think saying a wins a win is a bit nieve Dan, we have got to start playing a bit better as we wont beat good sides. Yes we deserved to win but we were playing a very poor side.
I expect us to get stronger that is all, 3 points is literally 3 points even if you play badly. lets get the scrappy games out the way. Other teams will play better and not get the results they want.
We don't have to beat every good side to get a good enough position ( Although would be nice ), just beat enough of them and beat lots of the poorer sides and I'm sure we'll be in the ( playoff ) mix at the end.
Almost an exact replica of Saturday's game. Very poor first half and perhaps a tad fortunate to go in at 0-0 but totally dominated the 2nd half without ever playing particularly well, with yet again, neither goalkeeper having an awful lot to do.
Cole scored a good goal within 30 seconds of the restart after a five minute stoppage for an injury and Ollie Rowe scored a magnificent towering header from a Sam Adams corner but apart from that very little to report on.
Positives were another magnificent display from Razor who must be playing as well as ever at the moment and another decent showing from Ollie Rowe and Jerome Smith. Not sure Josh has had a save to make in the last two games. Jack Walder also worked tirelessly today but needs to improve his passing.
On the negative side, I really don't like this new formation we are playing and we appear to have lost all width in the side not helped by Crabb's continued reluctance to track back at times. We still lack creativity or that flash of magic in the side and look forward to Okoh being fit and ready to go. But the biggest concern for all has to be the front two. Not helped by a lack of service they just don't appear to be gelling at all and are to similar. Clearly both are top players, but we always appear to be more dangerous when one of the speed merchants come off the bench.
So an ugly and in the end comfortable win against an average side and to be fair we would have lost this kind of game last season but 5th in the league, just four of top has to be considered a more than decent start after last years rubbish.
Did vaguely touch on the subject of having one striker up top with Sam Adams just behind after the Folkestone game.Probably OK to play both strikers against lesser sides in the division but would like to see a 4-2-3-1 against the stronger sides.
