Well that was impressive. Yes its only a friendly but that is as good as I have seen Hastings in a long, long time and its going be really difficult for players to push their way into the first eleven this year if they continue like that. I thought the team looked fit, sharp and strong all over the field. The front two were real handful again and will score a stack of goals this season. Cole and Walder were excellent and the new lad at left back was outstanding both in defence and attack. But for me the stars were two of the trialist being no 7 on the right of midfield and the big no 5 at centre back (no 4 was excellent as well). They were both outstanding and i'm guessing that Gary had them signing on the dotted line before the 2nd half began. But to be fair I thought all the trialist were excellent and even the lads that came on 2nd half were good including Bright and Tyrell once again. I think bringing those guys on with 20 minutes to go this season will be giving defences nightmares. To think Razor, Ollie and Foster were missing as well, this squad is looking really exciting. Really impressive from everyone today and there was a real buzz amongst the supporters. Going to keep my feet firmly on the ground but my expectations for the season have quietly changed in the space of a week.
