typical first friendly type of game, game of pretty much two separate 45 min teams. Kingstonian were playing their 3rd preseason game and played a Chelsea side as well so you'd imagine they'd be sharper but to be honest there wasn't that much in it.
Both sides hit the woodwork. All in all I would be very happy enough with it if I was Gary.
I thought it was a good first game foe us I thought a few players had a good game I felt our new no 7 and no 8 looked decent the guy at RB looked decent again Sean bossed at the back I came away today quite pleased with what I saw and to see Zac attwood confirm to me he's back with us was great too see and hear. Now looking forward till Tuesday
The one thing I did find strange was the choice of captain I don't feel walder should come to the club and made captain I feel Razor should be captain imo
Useful workout against a big Kingstonian side in front of a decent 230 crowd. Some Ryman clubs would like that for a league game. like Arrows27 was impressed with the number 8 who I gather is a local lad called Alan Foster. Very hard working.

Oh your joking ??? Seriously how can anyone else be captain apart from Razor?? That is insulting to give it to a new player when Razor has been here years and is so well respected by everyone. Yeah it annoyed me a bit becks as he is hastings through and through but I guess the manager prefers his old lewes captain over razor I'm hoping he was offered it but turned it down rather than just having it taken off him!!!!
game as said above typical friendly and at both ends not much goal chances and nothing to show we will see bags of goals from hastings this season but very early and hope some creative sparks show before season starts. we look solid at back and think the players show good understanding for first game. agree number 8 looked good player
the captain thing surprise me to as not sure how a player can come to club and just take it. for me a captain is ssomeone that shows comitment to club. i do remember walder when he was at hastings before and he threw a tantrum and walked out of club after 6 games or so i cant remember what about but he was not saying good things about hastings then. if not razor then pells should be captain because he like razor has showed that they really do want to play for the club.
3 questions why a burger van what is wrong with normal place? Phil was the crowd really that high!? looked more like 150 and video highlights show the echo how empty it was. still some teams would like 150 for proper game. last thing i could not hear crowd announcements from wherever i was in ground first half on far side under hill and 2nd half in stand near bar. such an echo or was that cos there not many in the ground

Sorry but surely the manager offers the captaincy to whoever he thinks will do the job best. Bearing in mind its his head on the block if things go wrong. Don't understand where some of you come from, as surely you want the club to win.
I thought everyone wanted a new beginning? I'm sure if Razor was that disappointed he wouldn't have signed for another year. New owners, new management, new team, new captain, Not sure what the problem is.
a captain needs to have respect john. there are still players from last year and i think razor and pells would have been my first choice. if wilson wants his captain to lead by example think we will finish games with 9 players! just an opinion and yes chris main thing is we win.

As Dave68 says I don't think you lose anything from his normal attitude if razor isn't wearing the armband but if Gary feels that by giving it to Jack Walder he will get a much better disciplined responsible player then that's good management in my book.
I enjoyed the game on Saturday and thought the lads did well against a team from a higher division who had played twice before. I agree with Dan about the captaincy and I didn't notice any difference in Razor either.
jack will miss most of the season injured or susepended so razor will be prob be skipper. who was on the bench on saturday? the team sheet i saw didn't list any subs for us
