not sure if i agree or not i believe was hard for nigel lost alot of players when dom left, and the squad towards end was not to bad, signings wernt to bad,
Bankole was glad have back
Patterson Excellent signing good experience
Tyrell Loads of potential
JJ getting back was vital staying up
Mclean seemed good signing shame didnt stay longer
Would like congratulate Nigel, Mark n John on accomplishing the target set when appointed
A big thank-you to Nigel...he did what was asked of him and kept us up.
However, I think it is right that we now set our sights a bit higher and try to get the best person we can for the job......and I don't feel Nigel is quite that man.
No excuses now relating to the Chairman so hopefully we can attract someone with the necessary experience, contacts and know-how as well as having the character to create a team who WANT to play for him. Too often over the last few years we've heard rumours the the "manager has lost the changing room". I am sure the club can provide a decent playing budget and we know that potentially we can draw crowds higher than anyone in this league.....so with the right man is charge with a bit of luck the traumas of 2014/15 won't be repeated.
Dean white would be good gary wilson would as well we need to move forward with fresh face not go backwards . Also giving enough time to build a team. Dont give anyone a go unless they have a plan. Or a magic wand!!!!

I didn't want Nigel to go. It did take him time and he ran it to the wire; but he at the end he did what was asked of him and kept us up. Great thanks are due to Nigel and his colleagues for that. He has saved us from a very difficult and uncertain future in the County League. I'm glad the club are ready to discuss with Nigel whether there might still be a role for him within the club. If that doesn't work out then I'm sure all of us will wish him the very best for the future.
Whatever view we might have of the decision itself, the Board have acted swiftly and it was unquestionably their decision to take.
Let's hope the selection process goes well and that we end up with a new manager who can deliver the success we've so long awaited. The absolutely crucial thing, once we appoint someone, is that we create the circumstances where he is confident that he has the full authority of the Board to do things his way, and that he has all the necessary time to achieve success. We just cannot afford a repeat of recent events, with a procession of managers (and consequently of players) - the inevitable results of that are painfully obvious to us all.
Can't express the importance of an EARLY appointment to give the new man the time he needs to rebuild.
(Then again I want the RIGHT appointment so maybe I'm asking for the impossible.)
Well said Geoff, I don't think now was the right time to dismiss NK as he has just completed his remit for this season and had just started to build a team for the promotion push for next ( just as he said he would ) and all without having to throw away thousands of pounds for a couple of strikers (as many on here were calling for !!),
However the decision has been made now, for better or worse .... (time will tell) but I would like to thank Nigel, Norm, Mark and Ryan for all they have done, and wish them all the best for the future.
Think the decision is the best one that could have been made, yes Nigel achieved his goal, but 6 weeks ago we were going to finish in the top half according to his observer articles. The other key point is that 1 player coming in probably made all the difference JJ and did NK play any part in that signing. Lets get a manager with recent success on his cv, and contacts that allow good loan players to come in.
Why would Razor retire? he's playing some of the best football of his career. Can't disagree with any of the others although some are on loans from other clubs so not sure if they will be back. How about Dolan, Vickers and King back? Dolan hardly played for Folkestone since he left and I think we would all love Tom back. But the big ones for me would be Lee Carney from Three Bridges, one of the best midfielders in the league by far (might bring his mate Matt Whitehead with him as well), and striker Tony Nwachukwu from Horsham. Quick, scores goals (18 for that rubbish) and great penalty taker. Would he really want to play county league? way to good for that. Could be the answer to all of our problems. Get some bids in quick!!!!!
With regards to managers there is ex Peacehaven manager Shaun Saunders and Darren Freeman ex Whitehawk, but both have had plenty of money before so they may be untested with a small budget. I guess Gary Wilson is the obvious choice and believe he is friends with the owner and Mr Nessling.
Regarding John's comments: I would very much like to see Dolan back; and Tom Vickers also. I'm not so sure about Jamahl King. Clearly he is a a quality player; but we did not see the best of him and, if it is accepted that travelling to Hastings was a significant factor in that, it might well be best if he did not feature in our future manager's plans. Plainly though, we need at least one new centre half as we will not (I presume) have JJ other than for a cameo role at the end of the season. What has happened to Sean Kelly? Did he actually take up boxing? To my mind, he was one of our greatest losses in the managerial melee of the last couple of years.
I see no mention of Ade and Tim in comments above. They have been great assets for us in their spells with us over many years. I hope Ade will have a continuing role with the club; but I think it was a mistake this season past to put the responsibility of primary striker on his shoulders. He simply could not be expected to play each and every game at his peak. I hope Tyrell stays with us and develops; and I hope we retain Sam Adams; but we urgently need at least one new quality goal scoring forward. Always, at every level of football, those are hard to find, expensive to acquire, and hard to retain. That needs to be the number one priority for the new manager. Unless we get someone who can score 20+ league goals we will not get promotion. We need to do much more as well; but that is the number one priority.
Sean Kelly played for John Lambert at Eastbourne Town this season along with Greg Nessling, Matt Darby, Danny Ellis and about 10 others who have previously played for us.
