Despite the result tonight ( which was irrelevent really ) a very enjoyable night for all involved, especially happy that they raised almost £2000 for the Ruby Laura Smash Cancer charity to send a 2 year old girl to America for essential surgery.
We went in 4-0 down at the break ( despite not getting a blatant pen from which decision they immediately broke upfield and scored a great lob for the 4th but held firm through the 2nd half and mostly controlled the rest of the game without getting s consolation.
there was a truely incredible save from the injured Hastings goalkeeper Dave Rimmer which may have been the Hastings highlight!
Thanks to all who attended and especially all who donated anything!
there will be a rematch next season at Maidstones Gallagher ground so will look forward to winning the trophy which went to Medway today!
Fantastic evening for an incredible cause and so proud of the lads for giving their all on the pitch as well as donating over £200 to this brave little girl. £2000 raised on the night is an incredible effort and special thanks to the club and in particular Pat, for making it such a special evening. I think it just shows what a very special club we have and special people that help run and support it.
Well done to all involved and thanks to those who helped organise it.
Heartbreaking story, puts things into perspective really. I'm glad to have played a small part in raising money.
