Well what a massive game this is going to be next weekend...2 teams bottom of the form league and a must win game for both teams...a draw for Horsham wouldnt be enough....but a draw for us would be better than defeat....this is now our game of the season...our cup final....its a game we can restore some pride...Horsham have lost their last 6 games...only scored 5 goals and conceded 19.....they are there for the taking...they are poorer than us...deserve to be in the county league....so lets beat them convincingly and show the town we are too good to sink to the depths of county league!!!!!

I take that as a big wind up pride for beating the rock bottom side and still saying we are to good to go down, I will be sick if we do go down like the rest but please tell me the post is a wind up.

No not a wind up...just feel that a win will restore a little pride but probably more importantly raise confidence in these players...they are currently getting battered on the pitch and battered on this forum....a win will change this...

All a win will do is keep Nigel in the job for another week and  condemn us to county league football It certainly will not restore even the smallest amount of pride as every bit of that has now been drained from this club. And what makes you feel it will install any confidence into the players? We very fortunately scraped past Horsham before and what did that do for form and confidence? The manager can not lift the players, that is a fact. The last performance of any pride and passion was Stapes one match against Burgess Hill. But an excellent observation and point made that a draw would be better than a defeat against Horsham, perhaps you should apply for assistant managers job as that is the type of comment NK comes out with in the Observer, like "we are much fitter now" and "we are playing better and performances are improving". What a joke and I'm sorry Mark but wish I had an ounce of your belief as win, lose or draw it will make no difference to what is going on, on and off the pitch.

A win will at least give some lift to all of us and who knows what will come of it. The idea that a draw could be better is just unthinkable. We know what we have to do next Saturday but following yesterday's appalling capitulation it's hard for anyone to see anything positive happening . That said - as supporters we can only do our bit now and make an absolute din and get behind them ( as we always do) . Maybe some more players will step up to the plate and equal that commitment

Pat, you are all so close and around the players. You can literally touch them; speak to them after the game.

They have also their responsibilities !!!

Neither Littlehampton nor Pagham from the county league can be admitted to the Ryman League, due to their grounds, so surely that could mean either one team,or possibly two, will earn a reprieve.

Shouldn't have to rely on being reprieved though. If it comes to that, then fantastic, but would we really deserve our place in the Ryman South? Reprieves are lucky, and 'relegated' teams in this league have been reprieved for the past few seasons due to teams in the lower league not being up to ground standard or whatever, last year it was Redhill.

If we're relegated, we obviously deserve to be in county league as the football has been truly dire, but if we're reprieved, that's brilliant, obviously, but it's a great shame on the Clubs who can't step up to the next level, such as Littlehampton, Pagham Town and Dorking if the case is right.

Over the standard of football I've seen over the past week weeks (didn't see the Carshalton game but heard lots about it!) then sadly I can't see us even beating Horsham on Saturday. We were lucky to beat them last time...

Agree with Liam. No good talking about reprieves as there is a very good chance we could end up bottom.

Dorking have had their ground passed by the Ryman League but there is still a chance that they may only finish third to Littlehampton and Pagham. I think our defence is strong enough to give us a better goal difference than any other team that we may finish level on points with.

For those who think this is a negative forum you should visit the Horsham forum!!! View is they need to win on Saturday as a loss will virtually relegate them into the county league....they have failed to score in 270 minutes of football...hope its not going to be a boring 0-0!!! Interesting to see what the bookies will give me for a Hastings win....worth a punt!!

It isn't just the Sussex county league that feeds into Ryman south though is it? Which other leagues might teams get promoted from? I've never needed to know before, depressing that I do now

Think Sussex, Kent and Surrey leagues have something to do with it general, but not 100% sure how it's all decided

Thought so Liam, lots of potential teams to be promoted then. Let's hope we don't need to rely on a reprieve then.

Have to agree that we cannot rely on a reprieve especially due to the work a number of step 5 clubs have done in recent years in order to get their ground ready for the next level. Lets support the team on Saturday in order to get the 3 points. We need to aim to stay up then have a serious look at the club in preperation for next season. Having spent a number of seasons watching clubs in the Sussex county league I find it difficult to understand how a club like Hastings United could survive on the levels of crowd that the county league attracts.
